Not exactly true. While AAA offers discounts year round, there are a limited number of AAA discounted rooms available at each resort for each date, so if all the AAA discounted rate rooms are sold out for your time period, you'll be quoted the rack rate.
I've also heard that you can keep checking because sometimes someone will cancel their AAA room and you can sneak in and snatch it up for the discounted rate.
I don't have any choice unless I want to upgrade from moderate to deluxe. There are 5 of us, and I just can't bring myself to pay for a deluxe. As it is, I'm canceling Buena Vista Suites offsite so we can stay in the park.
We just booked a Spring Break trip with the special package deal that is going on now for that time through WDW. We're getting park hopper/water parks "thrown in" without paying for it. Because it's such a good deal, the AAA discount doesn't apply "over it." That's what was explained to us, because we asked about it. One good discount is all you get at a time I guess.
We're going anyway!
