Why won't they confirm connecting rooms?

our paperwork looked like sparklemom's. GUARANTEED connecting rooms. We were in fact given connecting rooms and my parents were adjoining. So we had 3 in a row. 2 with a door between. My parents didn't arrive until 2 days after us so their room sat empty waiting. Probably time of year [Jan1-8] played into that.

I had heard a little of the buzz about not in fact being guaranteed so I called and was ASSURED they were guaranteed because of the age of our children even though we had 2 adults [I said will they split us up because we have 2 adults?]

I am glad I didn't know because I might not have booked POP and we really enjoyed it. But I would have thrown a hissy fit if they were not in fact 'guaranteed'.

A CM told me a couple of years ago that if children under 12 were on the reservation, the connecting room was guaranteed. They just can't tell you or mark it on the reservation.

And then, apparently, you could get there and then can say "sorry, we didn't really mean that".

When I booked my trip I was told that when the number of children is greater than the number of adults, ie 2 parents and 3 kids, connecting rooms are quaranteed.

When we went to ASmovies in Jan 2006 with a party of 13, we had 2 connecting rooms with a 3rd onr adjoining and the 4th one just around the corner. I was very impressed with how well they accomodated us. They did slightly mix up who was in what room, but that was easily fixed and we were all pleased.

In Jan 2005 we went with another family and had no trouble getting connecting rooms either.

I don't understand why they won't guarantee connecting rooms. If they assign their connecting rooms in advance, then when they are sold out, they can quit guaranteeing them.

We are a family of 5. If we could get connecting rooms at POP, I would for sure book there. If we couldn't get connecting rooms there, I would book somewhere else. I would MUCH rather be at another resort that could fit our hole family than have two rooms at Pop that are not connecting.

Grrr....it is just frustrating!

Room assignments get done about a week before arrival....NOT when booking your room through CRO.

That's why they won't guarantee the request. They'll note it, but then it's all luck of the draw.
