Why was it easy to get CRT?

Here is what happened:

I called to make reservations for 10 for CRT for lunch 182 days in advance. I was able to do so because I am staying at a WDW resort.

I then called 181 days in advance to change it from 10 people to 13 people. I was able to change it.

Then I called 175 days in advance to change it again from 13 to 17 people and I was surprised that I was able to do so. I thought for sure it would have been booked up by the time the day 180 days in advance was over. But, alas, no. I was able to add 4 people.

Why was it easy to do this? I thought it would be much harder?

The Crystal palace is a pretty big resturant, and since the characters are offered at breakfast, lunch, and dinner - I think lunch is the least popular option. Not because of anything negative - I just think most people are aware of breakfast and dinner character meals.

We ate there last month for lunch - it was really good - so no worries!

I think that maybe since they started making you pay for the meal in advance less people are booking there.

Wait - we are talking about Cinderella's Royal Table here, aren't we??

Also I'm not sure that lunch is the most popular of the dining times.

I hope I get lucky when I call in a few weeks!

Based on what the DIS boards say - things have really changed since they have gone to a set price for a meal (over $30/per). Sounds like it is a "once in a lifetime" meal as opposed to once in a trip meal.

17 people times ???? - you are paying a pretty penny for your meal. Enjoy!

No kidding!.........Glad to hear you could change it so many times to fit your needs! Personally, we haven't ever done CRT......because the menu doesn't seem apealing to me......let us know how it is! Thanks

Yes, I'm talking about Cinderella's Royal Table. When did it change to pre-pay? I haven't dined there in years.
