It was so long between WDW trips that I never experienced AE, so I had no baseline. AE was gone, so the guidebooks didn't describe the theatre. The Stitch ride (?) was too new to have guidebook coverage and the DIS boards were only saying it was "lame." So we took DS4 (at the time), thinking, "Hey, we love Stitch!" At the time, the height requirements were 38".
ENORMOUS MISTAKE!! I *knew* DS was timid, but what I didn't know was that this "experience" was geared toward those that appreciate the dark and gross humor. They took a character that had some, er, rough edges and focused solely on that aspect.
My gripe is that SGE takes a character completely suitable for small children and creates a completely
UNsuitable ride experience for small children. I know ToT isn't for DS, but they didn't stick Goofy in as the main character!
Even if I had been on it without a screaming, terrified kid (trust me, the LONGEST 12 minutes of my life!), it wouldn't have been my kind of humor. Not dinging anybody, but just not my brand of humor.
As it is, I never get to watch Lilo&Stitch, thanks to that ride. DS has a VERY good memory and wants nothing whatsoever to do with Stitch ever again!
