Why Stitch?

I noticed that a good amount of people here don't like the stitch attraction very much. I rode it 2 times and I actually found it very amusing. So I just want to ask, Why? It's still a fairly new ride isn't it?

I don't know either. I love Stitch and the attraction as well. Different strokes I guess.

I am in the minority also and I love Stitch and I like the ride. We just know now when to hold our noses (so we don't have to smell the chili dog!!)

I loved it and can't wait to do it again!! It also seemed to me that everyone in the room with us loved it too...they laughed at all the right times. Oh well,
LindsayDunn228 is absolutely correct as we found out at what we now refer to as "Wolfgang Puke's"!! No matter what others say, sometimes you just have to see for yourself!!

They need to get rid of the Stitch wake-up call too.Bring back MICKEY-Oh boy are we glad you're here, big doins goin on,so let's get started

DH and I tried Stitch for the first time last week because the wait was under 5 minutes. I was very surprised at how much I liked it. DH liked it too. I thought it was really fun and would definitely do it again!

My kids loved the Stitch wake up call, and If I remember correctly, Mickey is still on it.

IS STITCH the one that replaced Alien Encounter? My question is why do those shoulder pads have to come down so hard on you? Anyone also feel that way, like you are totally locked in? I tend to sit up higher than I need so the pads lock in place giving me a little room to move around while enjoying the show!!! OH! Man just my paranoia kicking in I guess!! I will say I actually liked Alien Encounter better than Stitch....Stitch is okay, I will go again later this month but I liked A.E. better!!! I did read where some posts said Disney thought A.E. was too scary for some little kids?? :Pinkbounc

momrek06 ~ we noticed that the harness comes down and then up a little so the key to not having the harness come down so hard on your shoulders is to shrug your shoulders up (or lift your arms up a little) while the harness is coming down that way it is a little higher off your shoulders.

I should mention that due to this attraction me and my DH now totally adore Stitch ~ practically all the little gifts I got for him for Christmas where Stitch!!

GOOD POINT!!! :flower:
YA, I do agree with you, I love that little fella! So incredibly cute, that Stitch!!! :wave2:

I thought it was pretty lame. AE really scared me :scared1: Maybe it wasn't working right though because I don't remember a chili dog smell. I didn't feel like it did anything at all compared to AE. I know they were taming it down some, but maybe took away too many effects.

What's alien encounter? is it scary? it sounds pretty fun

It's GONE.

"Stitch" is now in the place where it WAS.

The two attractions are actually very similar.

AND, the way that so many people COMPLAIN about how much they HATE "Stitch"... was just as strong against "Alien Encounter" when it was operating.

Its actually very funny how many people now say they LOVED "AE" when, at the time, it was nearly impossible to find a good word for it on these boards.

As for me, I don't dislike Stitch at all.
Felt the same way about AE.
I do miss "SIR" the nasty robot in the AE pre-show.

Skippy is still in the Stitch preshow (with the intergalactic "cop").

But, he no longer gets "toasted" to a "healthy glow".

ATTENTION all of you AE fans... Here's a link to the entire SCRIPT for AE:

It was so long between WDW trips that I never experienced AE, so I had no baseline. AE was gone, so the guidebooks didn't describe the theatre. The Stitch ride (?) was too new to have guidebook coverage and the DIS boards were only saying it was "lame." So we took DS4 (at the time), thinking, "Hey, we love Stitch!" At the time, the height requirements were 38".

ENORMOUS MISTAKE!! I *knew* DS was timid, but what I didn't know was that this "experience" was geared toward those that appreciate the dark and gross humor. They took a character that had some, er, rough edges and focused solely on that aspect.

My gripe is that SGE takes a character completely suitable for small children and creates a completely UNsuitable ride experience for small children. I know ToT isn't for DS, but they didn't stick Goofy in as the main character!

Even if I had been on it without a screaming, terrified kid (trust me, the LONGEST 12 minutes of my life!), it wouldn't have been my kind of humor. Not dinging anybody, but just not my brand of humor.

As it is, I never get to watch Lilo&Stitch, thanks to that ride. DS has a VERY good memory and wants nothing whatsoever to do with Stitch ever again! :sad2:
