Why some DO NOT get post card PINS..(Straight from the Executive Offices of WDW)

I don't think that's true. I'm on the Do Not Call registry, and have recieved 3 PINs in the last year and a half. I think PINs are just a random thing, I didn't think there was any consideration on who gets them and who doesn't.....I thought they were just sent out at random. :confused3

:confused3 I can't believe you got three pins in the last year and a half. I haven't gotten any yet and wonder why. We go to Disney every year, and in 2007 we went twice. We are going again in October and I am patiently waiting for some sort of discount at least to cover part of the dining plan. The only one I always get is through my Disney Visa card and I'm hoping that starting August 1st they will offer a discount again for card holders. Love Disney:love:  :lovestruc

I've gotten four pin codes in the last year. I never got an prior to! Not sure why!! I got one at the beginning of the year via email, one in the mail for DVC rooms and 2 emails in the last month. I have booked and cancelled a couple of times, so maybe that's why? But funny thing is, I get them on an email address I used YEARS ago, not the one I use now to log into my account.

My SIL had called to book an extended family trip a few years ago and didn't have the last name of one of my family members ( a new fiance) so she gave a "fake" last name and told the CM she'd correct it. Even though it was corrected shortly after the ressies were made, we still get offers with this incorrect last name, addressed to MY address...even though his address was also corrected a day after the ressie was made. I wonder about that data base but it needs a good spring cleaning.---Kathy

I think I've gotten codes from VISA in the past but this year I've gotten 2 email codes for 30% off. I ordered the DVD for WDW and DCL both were linked to the DVD ordering.

Of course they aren't for dates we are planning.

here is what I got to my response from my first email

I appreciate your response and your additional comments. While we can assure you that the "PIN" offers are distributed in a random manner, we can also advise that the selection of these Guests that receive the offer is also random. Please know that we have shared your feedback appropriately. If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us. Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number ifapplicable on all correspondence. Thank you!

so no real reason as to why people get 3 or 4 a year  its all just "random"

I have a hard time with the "random" thing. Of course no one in marketing is going to share how they decide who gets an offer. I can't believe though that there is no strategy and it's only "random". This would be like me throwing my bills in the air and randomly deciding which ones to pay each month based on nothing more than where they landed vs. using logic as to which ones should be paid. That answer though means that no one can question how things are done...after all, it's only "random" and no one is chosen or excluded. I personally don't like PIN codes but would like a loyalty program extended to repeat or frequent guests, or for those who haven't travelled, a site where all discounts are posted and everyone is eligible til the discount rates are gone. Used to be in the "old days" before everyone communicated and found out about offers via the website, perhaps personal and targetted mailings were needed- now one can read instantly of another person who got a code or offer and of course wants the same for their family.---Kathy

I agree DCLFUN, I felt like sending something back and saying "well could you put me on that "random" list then?? " A loyalty type of program would be nice, they can track how many visits you have had so that would not be hard. I hate when "good offers" are only out there for new customers / clients its like that from everything to cell phone service to sat. television etc. They will advertise a really good offer and if you already have that service you can not get the deal because you have had the service :confused3 I kinda got into it one day with someone from directv, I didnt want to be confrontational with the person but I ended up telling him, I am a paying customer and we are the ones that keep your system running, you want new customers to come in but you should reward the ones that you already have as well..needless to say it did no good, but I felt better when I "vented" a little bit :headache:

As travel costs go up, fewer people will be spending the big bucks to go to Disney. Many are shocked at airfares, and are waiting for $99.00 flights...I hope they find them, but lots of those deals are gone for the foreseeable future. And not to hijack, but about DirectTV--The DO have a program to reward their customers. When you call you need to specifically ask about their loyalty program. Tell them you are a loyal customer, and ask to be connected.

I did not know that :thumbsup2 and he did not share, but since I have been a loyal customer for 7 years I will give it a try.. Thanks!

I signed up for a DVD a year ago (while on the Do Not Call Registry) and ended up with a pin via email. I couldn't use it - didn't even know what it was at the time, actually!! (pre-Dis-Board, lol)

Now that a trip is in the works, I signed up for another DVD, but nada, zilch, nothing has come our way...

I just signed up for the Planning DVD last week, and today I got a PIN code in my email. :confused3  I am pretty excited about it -- but can't use it right now!

I'm on the Do Not Call Registry and have gotten 3 Pin codes in the past 6 months. I'd never received ANY until I signed up for the new planning DVD earlier this year.

Im on the DNC registry and have received pins too..never when I can use them! Usually for summer. I have noticed I get them after signing up for something...getting the DVD planner, shopping at Disney online, signing up for Insider etc...

I have also noticed that since I booked my vacation, in January, I have not received a thing. They obviously know, through my phone number, I already have a vacation booked. Why would they try to get me there? !!
