Why some DO NOT get post card PINS..(Straight from the Executive Offices of WDW)

All I know I have the 'Do Not Call Registry' on both of my phone. Doesn't matter I still get unwanted phone calls from people or companies I have never dealt with so why bother having it when it suppose to stop these kinds of calls? I get one each month for awhile from Virginia State Police & I tell them give me your number & name & I will call back. Then I call the non emergency number for Va state police & guess what? They don't call and ask for donations & if I have the number please give it to them as it is a scam so that one off my list. lol. But in all honestly I think that is a bunch of BS that person was given. How else would Disney call you if something is wrong. Just a side note you have to keep signing up every few months for the 'Do Not Call Registry' so I was told.
I am tired of these unwanted phone calls I feel like tearing the phone off the walls. Had one that keeps calling me as my number is the almost the same as a printing company. These people turn nasty when you politely tell sorry you got the wrong number. After so many I begun taking orders lol. Then they would call back asking where their orders are I would say I told you that you had the wrong number & gave you the right number & you kept calling so I took it. Next time look the number up. I did call the business & talked to the manager, he was nice & said sorry. But after I had to call him back a few months later he told me to get a new phone number haha I had my number longer than he did so he can change his. Called phone company & told them & they offer to change mine but I didn't want that too many people to change it with. Make the company change theirs which the phone company did. That person was passing the buck.
Surrounded by idiots !

I am on the Do not call list and I have never received a pin code, but I have received several mailings about joining DVC. Oh and I did order the vacation planning DVD and I never received any pin codes from that.

Sounds like we need to do a survey! I am NOT on the DNC Registry and have NEVER received a PIN either by email or postal mail. I am a DVC member and continue to get mailings and solicitations to add on to my membership, which I'm glad they send. I love to hear from Disney- even an advertisement brings a bit of pixie dust in with the rest of my mail, which is usually bills! I find the above response the OP got to be really puzzling.---Kathy

First, I believe you can add an email to your contact list and that will make it ok for Disney to solicit by e-mail without a problem with the do not call list. Now, Disney has to be proactive and make an address available for those who want pin codes and such. There may even be a way with the registry to get exceptions to the rule, but I'm not sure you can pick exceptions or not.

In addition, a do not call list has nothing to do with mailings from Disney from what I understand. They certainly can mail offers. If you receive other offers from Disney, why would a pin code be different from other offers?

If her answer is true, then why do I receive a credit card application every month from American Express when I have never done business with them? Or any other credit application for that matter?

we're on the do not call registry (although we still do get lots of junk mail and calls!) and have received 3 pin codes, all by mail, in the last year or so. They are always addressed to my husband. Sometimes they misspell his name, and sometimes they don't (so there must be multiple lists that they're pulling from). we have stayed there quite a bit over the past 5 or 6 years, on AAA discounts, military discounts and free dining.

one of the pin codes was military-specific....so maybe there's some connection there?

Unless I'm badly mistaken, the "Do Not Call" list is for telephone calls, not e-mails, and certainly not US Mail. Which means that V-phone company cannot telephone me to try to get me to switch (as I have cable) - but they can and do send me at least 1 letter every week by US Mail.

So Disney is free to send PIN postcards to anyone they care to (and I've never gotten one either :sad2:). I think that CM is mistaken.

Well I am NOT on the do not call registry and have never (too my knowledge) received a PIN code. Plus every year I order the planning DVD b/c my kids love watching the videos of Disney. We are going in April so if Disney is reading this PLEASE send me a pin. I could really use one for this trip!!!:goodvibes

Maybe it has something to do with booking at full rate in the past as opposed to a AAA or other discount. I've never received a PIN or any other discount offer from Disney. I'm on the DO NOT CALL registry, but still get lots of DVC offers and credit card offers (already a DVC member and have the VISA card, so what a complete waste that is) and vacation offers (that are no different than what is on their site). Anytime we've ever booked, it has always been with a AAA or other discount.

2002 - GA Resident Rate
2003 - AAA rate
2005 - RACK at POP because we wanted to be there as opening day guests
2006 - AAA rate
2007 - booked as a package via AAA changed to Disney Visa rate with code
2008 - RACK solo long weekend trip
2008 (upcoming) - AAA rate

We get the DVD almost every year. We occasionally switch things up and ask for stuff on ABD, DVC, DCL, DFW, and even DLRP. We were/are on a do not call list, but have had pin offers along the way. Sadly, we can rarely use them. I would love to get one for our December trip. I would like to upgrade out of the value resorts.

I actually wrote Disney asking about the fact that some people get PINS three times a year or more. If they actually know who has one attached to their name, then shouldn't they be able to know who gets more than one a year :confused3 ? I also put on their that I am not part of the "do not call" list that way they could not use that "excuse" we shall see what happens

Not true, I am on the DNC list and I got the postcard

I am also on the Do not Call Registry and have received postcards via snail mail in the past...never any I could use though!

"ARE YOU ON THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY?" I said YES. She then said, "DISNEY IS NOT ALLOWED TO SOLICIT YOU IF YOU ARE ON THAT LIST, WHETHER IT BE BY MAIL OR PHONE."

Baloney. I'm on the national "do not call" registry and have been for years. I just got a PIN code postcard in the mail, and it's not the first one I've received!

Might be a better thread to post this, BUT I'm here so it's going here. :rotfl:

I get a code once every few years. Probably 4-5 years between codes. I had ordered the planning video from the account I already have registered with Disney. Later, I wanted to order another for a family member but couldn't remember their new address so I set myself up with another account and decided I'd have it sent here and just give it to them. I made a very slight modification in my first name (spelled it "Carry" instead of "Carrie") and since I did that back in March (I think?) I've received not only the code that everyone was getting for ordering the DVD, but also TWO more emailed PIN codes.

I had the bounceback Free Dining booked since last year so I didn't need the codes. But it's my junk email address and now I have to wade through the spam to see what surprises Disney sends me when I do need a code.

Oh, and both accounts have the same phone number that's on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Just to let all of you know. I am awaiting a call from a "honcho" in guest services. On Friday, I had a telephone conversation with a representative who AGREED with me that what I was told was WRONG.

Additionally, I was given a 2 VIP passes to an Illuminations viewing at Epcot. (whipty whipty whipty *&*&^%# doooooooooo)

I will keep this thread updated as to what "excuses" come out of their mouths next.

But, thanks for the replies. I am glad I posted what had originally been said to me. Now I know FOR SURE....us DISERS are the smart ones. !!!!:dance3: :surfweb:

Kudos to you for following through. Just because someone speaks or writes to you from the Executive Offices doesn't mean they haven't been given a "party line" to pass along to guests who inquire about any specific policy. They might not even believe it themselves but probably are required to use a certain statement that is consistent even if it isn't credible.---Kathy

I got a reply as well, what I had originally asked was why people get PIN offers more than once a year sometimes they get them 3 or more times. I told them that I understood that they got a lot of email about this subject, but I just wanted to know why they did not spread them out as much as they could. If they could keep up with the amount of PINS that are out there and that only certain families could use them, then why cant they make sure that they are spread out to more people? This is what I got:
