Why so many SSR resales?

I Think People Did Not Know What They Were Getting In To Or Like Myself They Don't Like The Resort. When We Bought We Were Under The Impression That We Would Have No Problem Getting Into Any Of Th Eother Resorts. Well That Was A Big Fat Lie. However We Are Not Selling And Just Hope Fo Rthe Best Everytime We Make A Reservation

We bought SSR last Jan. and we were able to get into BWV for Aug. trip and we are going to BCV this July for a week with no problems....when are you going that you have a hard time getting in?

We've had no problems getting into other resorts, but it's not been at busy times. We stayed at VWL in early May and got BCV for MLK weekend. Both 2br.

If I was going in Oct-Dec, I would book my home resort and then try at 7 months, you will probably have to waitlist for BCV/BWV/VWL.

I think this has become the 100,000 dollar question. Just when are the non-busy times? Are busy times just every holiday, holiday weekend, festival, spring break, soap opera week, marathon weeks? I mean, all of these times are taking up about 75% of the year. What exactly is the slow time now? Since this is getting harder to define, getting in at slow times at 7 mos. may be a thing of the past. If the majority of owners try to get non-home resorts at 7 mos. within that 75% period and can't, then there is a serious problem. There should be a way to track this.

The first weekend of May trip, I had BCV/BWV and VWL on the waitlist and VWL came up first. I made one call right at 7 months from MLK day and had the option of BWV preferred 2br or BCV 1queen/sofa 2br(we stayed from Thursday-MLK day).

Now I didn't think the BC was that busy MLK weekend, EPCOT and MGM weren't that crowded(did Soarin twice w/FP), but AK on that Sunday was more crowded than I have seen it at Thanksgiving(even more crowded than Thanksgiving day 2006).

I'm not going to be going for F&W for quiet a few years or NYE(not going to blow premium points for kids that can't make it to midnight;) ).

Personally I take a lot of these stories with a grain of salt. It's easy to fudge I called at 7 months and couldn't get BWV, well they may have been able to get a preferred room but they wanted standard, very easy to drop that little fact out. Or there is nothing available for "whatever" weekend when SSR and OKW have rooms. Or I called at 7 months, when it was really 6 3/4 months out.

For what its worth, I am in favor of the preferred reservation locations at SSR. If I could be guaranteed Congress Park, or Grandstand, that would greatly enhance my desire to stay there. The fear of getting the Carousel when I knew I could have had BW view is what is holding me back. Don't know how others feel, but this would help its popularity. May help decrease the number of resales. JMHO. (Tomandrin, now don't beat my avatar!:goodvibes )
