Why September At WDW Is The Best

We have been to WDW at different times of the year, but no time is as good as mid- September. Here's why:

1) lowest crowds of the year
2) still nice and hot so the pool is refreshing
3) free dining (gotta make your ADR's though!)
4) little to no waits for most rides for the first couple hours, as long as you get to rope drop
5) Halloween decorations and parties
6) somewhat lower airfare (except this year)

Yes, it's hurricane season, but the odds are in your favor to not get hit by one.

Who's with me?

I'm with you. Sadly, it doesn't matter. School is in session so we can not go then. Before DGD started school, you can bet we did and loved it. For what it's worth, I think May is great too. No free dining but otherwise, great. Not that we can go then either

I can agree with your other points, but #2 is what rules September out as "best time of the year" for me. Any time when it's still considered "hot" (and let's not forget humid), isn't my cup of tea.

Shhhh don't let the secret out ;);) haha! I'm super excited for our September trip!

Yep. best time of year. Looking forward to our visit this September.

Funny I was just saying how the only time I will head to Orlando unless it's a quick day trip is the winter. Way way to hot right now. We are FL AP holders and don't go except from Nov-March except for maybe one day at a water park. You literally could not pay me to go to Disney durning the Summer(Sept is summer if your a Floridian lol)

its my favorite time to go! sadly this year i had to go in may, since i have a little one due september 1 and i dont think a trip to disney would be in the cards with a 2 week old...and next year i want to wait til december so she will be closer to 18 months..but 2016 will be back to september!

Hopefully Disney will get ride of Free Dining forever after this year... As someone who would gladly pay for the sit downs at Disney nothing makes me more nervous than free dining killing our vacation thought of just going with the flow when it comes to dining.

I have a couple reservations for the must dos but I feel that I should just over schedule at this point to have restaurants locked in and we can always cancel.

This will be our first September and the low crowds is what drew us to this time of year.

I wish I could go in September! I'm still finishing and undergrad and have to wait until school is out.

Soo excited for our September trip. :) The heat and humidity will feel just like home to us, haha. I'll take the heat over crowds ANY day! And free dining - duh!

Your #2 is a huge minus for me. I can't stand the heat and there's no such thing as "nice and hot." :)

Plus, the parks close so early in September. I really love The first few weeks of December. It's a little more crowded but not as bad as many claim. And I personally love the weather. I even considered going to Blizzard Beach one day.

add the Food & Wine Festival and remove the free dining and it's my list. I don't mind it being hot.

It's interesting to see the difference in people's preferences. Some put a heavy emphasis on crowd numbers. Others focus on the weather. Free dining and discounts seem to be most important aspect for others. We would enjoy Disney just about any month but the heat/humidity combination keeps us from going in September because we spend most of our time at the parks. We have gone in September before and nearly melted

We like October/November or March the best. ::yes::

Whats your career going to be? For instance in my line of works fiscal quarters come into play where I can not travel certain parts of the year. Same with companies that we work with having seminars I need to attend at certain times of the year each year.

You know, I hate the heat too but I'm still going in September. Why? Because I'm coming from the desert where even the heat indexes with humidity accounted for will be 5-10 degrees cooler on Florida than here.

I can deal with the heat. I live in South Louisiana and the climate is very similar. I also went last September and am going back this September, but I refuse to convince myself the heat is "nice" because it makes swimming more refreshing.

The heat is depressing. It fatigues you faster, makes you uncomfortable and makes it harder to recover for the next day, but low crowds and longer parh hours trumps a little discomfort and it just takes a little more diligence in planning.

The lowest crowds we have had on a trip was when we went the 10 days surrounding Labor Day weekend a few years ago. But, man, the heat and humidity were BRUTAL. So, November/early December is now our new favorite! Crowds are a bit bigger, but at least we can count on the temps being lower (for the most part).
