Why no SSR love?

Although I never knew Rich Hyams (he passed away some time ago) he was apparently quite a character. Just do a search for Richyams and you will find some of his posts (but I think you already know that). Now back to the matter at hand....... we have EYE and "why AM that", EYE AM ????? who???? This is when I realized DVC might have shot themselves in the foot with SSR. I'm pretty sure my sis wasn't the only discriminating prospective buyer who felt this way.

There was another thread I was reading on this board yesterday (which I keep looking for but can't find) that supports the above. It was based on someone having recently having gotten some very detailed inside info on DVC sales. The statement they made was something to the effect "the situation with SSR sales isn't just below objectives, it's bad."

Which to me completely explains the beyond overkill level of current DVC promotion both on property and in Disney collateral. Everything I get these days that is from Disney or one of their partners (magazines, newletters, catalogs, credit cards statements, you name it) inevitably contains yet more "THE BEST KEPT DISNEY SECRET" propaganda. If there's one thing Disney wants me to be paying attention to right now (other than Expedition "we've-fallen-into-the-trap-of-the-only-way-to-build-traffic-in-an-underperforming-park-is-yet-another-coaster" Everest), it's DVC.

Notably, that didn't happen when BWV opened. Or BVC. But it is now, which tells me DVC management...has a problem with their latest product.

Well my guide DID come in.

I bought at HH.

Now I can stay there with no worries.

I always felt so ?? unclean taking away HH owners rooms with my BCV pts.

(btw 87 dollars a point and you get 05 pts, and no taxes or dues for 05)

So about this SSR question, does anyone have an answer?

still not sure owning vs renting is a good deal. I only did this because getting HH 7 mths out is getting harder all the time. I won't be BUYING any more pts for WDW DVC's, IMO renting there is no doubt from a cost perspective the way to go. In fact i may sell my BWV and use that $ to buy more HH and some Vero, and just stay at the WDW resorts with rented pts.

Heck if nothing else i could stay at SSR. That Earl sandwich place is there. Right?

Build a 2000 room DVC Lite over by the MK. 15 points a night all year. With trading privvies limited to SSR.
