Why no SSR love?

on-site at SSR. just go down the hall way and turn left in the parking lot until you hit tampa.

By the way, congrats on the HH points.

still not sure owning vs renting is a good deal. I only did this because getting HH 7 mths out is getting harder all the time. I won't be BUYING any more pts for WDW DVC's, IMO renting there is no doubt from a cost perspective the way to go. In fact i may sell my BWV and use that $ to buy more HH and some Vero, and just stay at the WDW resorts with rented pts.

Heck if nothing else i could stay at SSR. That Earl sandwich place is there. Right?

boatboatboat,

Are you sure you are not a board host disguised as a poster? :confused3 Just taking out a little frustration on the frequest posters? Seriously, if I posted even a quarter of what you've posted here it would have been removed. You either are a board monitor in disguise or you haven't been added to the watch list yet. If it is the latter I think you'll be added soon. Until then you are cracking me up with this stuff. Thanks for the laughs. :rotfl2: :lmao: :woohoo:

I can't imagine that anything I have posted warrants being removed.

Are you an SSR owner?

Oh no, here we go!! Yes indeed Daitcher is an SSR owner who is VERY vocal about not staying there and always stays at BCV. He gives us all a lot of laughs in that regard. You two have something in common in that you both choose not to stay at your home resorts. Daitcher has incited many a controversy on these boards as I'm sure you will go on to do as well. Cheers :drinking1 .

I bought some HH points today.

I felt dirty staying there all the time with BWV points.

I may just use some of my BWV points and use them at SSR to get even with him...........

Maybe he has a mug i can borrow.

Well maybe not........

We own at SSR. We have not yet stayed there yet, but can't wait to. We are trying the other resorts while we can get into them. We will be happy when we go to SSR as we are huge Downtown Disney fans. I don't get the impression that people dislike SSR. I just think that the owners that have younger children like to be closer to the parks by a boat road.
Whats there not to love about SSR?

Oh good, congrats on your purchase. Now those HH people won't be able to hate you anymore (and you won't be dirty) LOL. If you use those BWV points to stay at SSR people will LOVE you!! You're such a cad!! pirate:

SSR has a indoor parking doesn't it?

I plan on driving my van. Currently it just has primer. My brother is going to paint it this fall. If it sits outside to much, we may have to sand it again.

why thank you!! :goodvibes glad you like my kitties, they are my angels! do you have any siamese? maybe i'll see you in the slums of ssr someday to compare pics.... i'm the one with the spandex shorts

Yes, we have four of those little angels ourselves! Your Seal Point looks like our Latte!
And yes, maybe when we get a chance to go slumming at SSR, we might run into each other! According to these boards, we should pretty much have the place to ourselves! :rotfl:
I'll be looking for the 312lb women in spandex shorts! :goodvibes What color of shorts should I be looking for?

LIME GREEN SHORTS OF COURSE :bounce: and i'm so excited about meeting another siamese lover ;) my 2 blue points (mom and daughter) definitely could wear halos, but my seal - pepper - is about to be one dead feline :furious: she is a very bad girl, and sometimes leads the other 2 into bad territory, lol! i was thinking of sending her to the local Shing Loon restaurant. or maybe i can grill her up while all 2 of us are at SSR :stir: i'm sure i'm not the only WT to eat cat....

Thanks for the help. :goodvibes The difference between me and boatboatboat is that I'm not trying to hide the fact I do that. B3 had to be called out by the detectives before he fessed up. I am a proud 7 month resort booker. I like to spread it around, taking up ressies at a variety of resorts. This year I'm hitting up, BCV (3 times), OKW, VWL and VB. The fall is wide open so I might be coming for your resorts then as well. :thumbsup2 B3, yes I do own SSR, the section over by Tampa is my favorite part. Am I the only one that thinks B3 is a welcome addition to these boards? :confused3

Oh Dave LOL!! You certainly do like to spread it around, good for you. :thumbsup2
boatboatboat might be trying to take away your :stir: title, but yes I must admit he's very entertaining.

Congrats Sherri - we stayed at SSR last year and loved it. The villas were awesome and the pool was alot of fun.

We bought BWV because we spend 90% of our time at Epcot or MGM. We want to WALK to Epcot.

Something I have noticed repeatedly in the ssr bashing threads is the "Saratoga springs is too spread out with too much walking" line of reasoning. Yet, one of the top reasons for owning at BCV or BWV seems to be the ability to WALK to Epcot or MGM. I guess I don't see why it would be easier to walk to Epcot to go to dinner than it would be to walk from anywhere in SSR to Artist's Pallette or a DTD restaurant. :confused3

(DisFlan, this is not aimed at you, I was just using this as an example :) )

OH MY GOSH - Thank you SaratogaShan.

Ok this is just a huge peeve of mine anyway. I swear I must have issues because I totally don't get the argument of not wanting a spread out resort because I might have to walk an additional 500 yards to get to my room when we walk in the parks all day. Drives me nuts!

I am a OKW owner since 1993, and it is my favorite resort. I have stayed at SSR, and I will be staying there again in 2 weeks. I think the resort is fine. True the rooms are not as big as OKW; but the resort is very charming. :sunny:

No, I didn't take it personally. We stayed at the old Disney Institute many times (from 1983 to 2000) where SSR now sits - so I DO understand the differences in time, energy and distances involved in getting anywhere on WDW property. For us, the Epcot resorts are where we now want to be - BWV in particular.

We go to DTD maybe once or twice a trip, and we rarely eat there. We go to Epcot and MGM nearly every day - with easy hops back to the villa whenever we feel like it. We can go by boat if we don't feel like walking. You can't get to Epcot or MGM by boat OR a five minute walk from SSR. If DTD is your focus, SSR is fine. But not for us.

DisFlan

Disflan,

I understand that you stay there because that is where you want to be (as it should be! :) ) My point was that the walk from Epcot to BWV is not any shorter than the walk from the most outlying villas at SSR to DTD. You consider your walk to be an "easy hop", while some folks think having to navigate the SSR area is like a forced death march. :teeth:

I suppose this depends on where you're going to and from. I've made the trek from the SSR area to DTD many times in the past, from both the far (ugh!) and close ends. IMO, the walk from Epcot to BWV is much nicer. ;)
