Why no "heterosexual" forum heading ??

I've already had two message boards.

So your "once", again, is not applicable to the OP or my other replies.

Or did you mean "you" in the general sense of any person?

Nope, I meant you.

Do you not understand the concept that when you own something you are allowed to do with it what you want.

This is why there is a homosexual forum and not a heterosexual forum because that is how the owners of the message board want it.

Not a difficult concept.

I would say it is a Minority versus Majority issue. The majority of this forum is heterosexual so a Gay forum is posted up for the minority so that they are able to locate the info they seek in their own setting. Kinda like when you go to another country and they have instructions/ info that says American tourists info. You would be the minority so hense the topic to easily locate which you seek. Obviously, there can't be forums for all different issues/ subjects but there is obviously enough to start a forum for it. Also, perhaps Disboards just wanted to show their LGBT support and posted the gay forum for that reason.

For the same reason we have a camping forum, a disabilities forum, a teen forum, a spanish forum, an adult forum among others.
A group of individuals share a common bond and have unique issues in regards to Disney vacation planning.
Short answer- They asked for a forum so we gave them one.

:thumbsup2
Gotta say I love the different Vacation planning forums on this site. It was very useful for information travelling with my autistic son when he was younger, and actually I got tips that I've used for day to day life. I suspect it's the same sort of bond on the G&L forums.

Now you're just making my head hurt ...21 posts, is it? :rolleyes1Hmmm....

Well, let me try to be Larry Logical.

There are issues that come up from time to time that are either unique to the gay community or happen more often in that community then others. They are still a group of people that are isolated or marginalized in large parts of our society.

As an easy example, I don't have to worry about which state I can marry in or how someone in a theme park will look at me when I embrace my significant other. I'm sure there are many more but I will let someone from that community speak about them if they feel fit.

Now, is it true that often times the majority is made to feel bad about having pride in themselves? I would argue yes. Having strait pride doesn't mean you are anti gay any more then having gay pride means you are anti strait. Having white pride does not mean you are anti minority any more then having black pride is anti anything not black. Are there some people of all of those that take their pride to the extreme? Yep, there is. When someone proclaims their pride in being white/strait/Christian as a way of demeaning or intimidating those that are non-white/gay/non-Chrisitian it goes from being real pride to being passive aggressive bullying.

All of that previous paragraph being said (or typed), there is a difference between being the in the majority and in the minority. We don't need the separate space (I have no idea what term to use for this) because our interests are addressed in "normal" society or on the "regular" boards. It is just a logical side effect of being the majority.

Even if everyone wanted to get along as one big happy group that accepted each other there would still have to be a way for people who weren't represented in the majority to address their race/sexuality/religious specific issues because the nature of being in the minority means your needs aren't always addressed in the majority. Sometimes this is on purpose and some times it is just a side effect of numbers.

Unfortunately far too many people haven't figured out that different isn't better or worse, it is just different.

Of course everything above is kind of irrelevant because the boards are a private thing owned by private people who will do with it what they please.

Well said - Now, do I get my Bama forum? :confused3

Not a chance...but a Penn State forum, that has real possibilities!

Maybe a Big 10 forum in general. We can post really well all season on the threads and then they can crash the day of the National Championship :headache:

Wait a minute. If they get Bama, Penn State and Big 10 forums, I think we should also have an LSU forum, or at least an SEC forum. Come on now. :rotfl:

Maybe just a generic sports forum and people can open whatever thread they want.

Who would ever have thought that they gay board thread would be hijacked into a sports thread? Not to perpetuate the stereotype about gay people not liking sports but come one :rotfl:

Cant we have a "we love FireDancer" thread?
; )
Oh, I think we have already done that.
