why it takes so long?

can someone tell me why it takes so long to complete the paper work,and get in the disney system? my house closing did not take this long?

In our experience it was all rather speedy, Minny. Although we had only made the downpayment, we were in the system for reservations within the next day or two on our initial contract. And our add-ons were even simpler.

The last was a small contract at a second resort for which we paid cash. As there was no financing (handled over the telephone on a Thursday afternoon), we were in the system the next afternoon (Friday) and when the paperwork arrives in a day or two (Monday), there's no need to have anything notorized. It was almost too simple. We were looking forward to visiting DL to sign all the paperwork and now it's almost like an afterthought.

Those who purchase directky thru Disney are placed in the system as soon as the downpayment has been made. Reservations may be made almost immediately.

Resales do take a bit longer since the offer needs to be accepted by the seller, DVC then has 30 days to decide about ROFR, the title company has to perform their estoppel search to prepare closing documents, both parties must sign the closing documents and return them to the closing company, the deed must then be recorded with the county and after completion of all of these tasks, DVC must be informed of the sale and be provided all needed documents. After closing, the new owner will usually be in the system within a week.

yes it is a resell, answer the other question is about a month and the company that handles the paper work has to redo it because they made a mistake

The nice part is that if you do an add-on later through Disney, you will have no delays. I did an add on, and because of our member website, knew it came through before my guide even had a chance to let me know!

due to the lady, who handles sending the info from Disney to the Title , losing her husband.
She is back at work so hopefully things will pick up now. My agent has at least 20 resales waiting to close!!!
