Why is this ride still operational????

The only thing I wouldn't mind seeing changed is that Captain EO thing go back to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. But if they leave it as it is we'll just bypass it.
As for the rest, everything is "someone's favorite attraction" so I don't think anything "needs to go."

Personally, I love the Stitch attraction and go on it every trip.

Personally, I don't care for Tower of Terror but I know it's a super popular ride so would not think it "needs to go."

We enjoy the rides and attractions we like, and skip the ones we don't.

I'm pretty sure the Treehouse remains solely for my personal enjoyment. :p
I hope it always does. To remove it would be like removing the hat from HS, oh wait... :lmao:
No, I seriously do like it.

Captain EO, on the other hand... I'm shocked that it is still there. :crazy2:

Nuh uh....the treehouse is still there for MY personal enjoyment lol.

Seriously, I always love going through the treehouse. That was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I showed it to DD8 before we went to WDW last spring and she was absolutely thrilled with the treehouse too. We would be very sad to see it go.

Add my husband and me to the group of people who enjoy the treehouse. I love it. And who didn't dream of living in a place like that back when we were kids?

Captain EO for sure. I get the reasoning for why they brought it back in the first place, but come on he's been dead since 2009. It is time for a change!!

Heck I STILL dream of living in a place like that.

As far as the original question I would have to say Gran Fiesta Tour. I remember liking the original iteration when I was a kid. I had heard they had completely changed it before we went on our last trip so I was expecting it to be different but oh dear god....never again.

I had to see why Stitch got so much hate (and I have an 8-year old boy who enjoys gross stuff) but ick I couldn't wait for it to end.

Tom Sawyer island - I couldn't get my boys to leave, they were in love. We could have spent hours there. We even missed our FP to Space Mountain (the one ride the 8-year old really wanted to go on but hadn't yet) because they just wanted to run around. I thought it was a wonderful break from lines and crowds over there.

I love the treehouse! It never has a line, and I find it interesting to look at all the furniture, and such. It's a good thing to do if you're waiting to do something else. You can also see fireworks from it, sometimes.

Personally, I LOVE Splash Mountain. But I will be the first to say that it needs a serious facelift. It seems like it breaks down a LOT, and there's always atleast one robot that isn't working when I go on the ride. It's old, and it needs some serious love.

As for ripping something down, and starting over 100%... Carousel of Progress. They could use that space in the park for something much more updated, and fun. ;)

Stitch is on top of my list. The attraction under both it's Alien Encounter and Stitch iterations is unnecessarily frightening, claustrophobic and lacks qualities appropriate for a Future World attraction. The space could be better utilized as a Space themed dark ride.

I agree, but (1) Stitch isn't in Future World, and (2) ironically, the original attraction there was a space-themed dark ride, Mission to Mars (Wasn't the original actually Flight to the Moon for a year, or was that only at DL?).

Ellen's energy adventure. That ride was built in 1996. That's like handing kids in school a science book from 1996. It's all outdated irrelevant energy information now. Think of all the energy technology we've come up with since 1996. Heck when that ride came out the internet was just getting started. Anyone who rides that comes off a little dumber. They need to just shut it down.

Rides that need to go: Stitch, Captain EO, Honey I Shrunk The Kids

Rides that need to be updated: Ellen's Energy Adventure, The Great Movie Ride, and The Swiss Family Tree House (with a little work they could transform it into a themed play area, which would be awesome)

Rides that should not be touched: Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, and Carousel of Progress (Yes they are outdated, but Walt Disney designed them, they are charmingly outdated)

Stitch is the one ride that feel needs to be completely redone. And not because I felt it was too scary but because it was the only attraction that I felt truly bored in. Am I the only one who felt like a majority of the "ride" was sitting in the dark while loud noises blasted in your ear? The one improvement I could think of that would not take up to much room would be to make the room spin. It wouldn't have to be as bad as tea cups or MS but even a mild rotation would be nice. It would give an illusion that the "harnesses" are for something more than just to badly simulate someone jumping on you. And it would allow for viewing the Stitch animatronic (which was the most interesting part of the attraction when you could see it) from different angles.

Stitch for sure. Ellen's Energy is WAY outdated for reasons stated by a PP - should be updated with completely new film. The fact that they brought EO back is ridiculous, let alone that it is still there. I also think Living with the Land could use some updating.

Magic Kingdom -- Stitch needs to be go and have something completely different there.

Epcot -- I adore Epcot, but there are a lot you could choose from here. I agree that Ellen's Energy Adventure needs to be updated. I also think that Imagination is beyond due for an overhaul. But I agree -- it's ridiculous that Captain EO is still there, and don't bring back Honey I Shrunk the Kids either. Both those ships have sailed. Time to put something new in.

HS -- The Great Movie Ride needs an overhaul. The last time we went on it, we were stuck in the back row and none of it even made any sense because the tour guide had finished commenting on a scene well before we even entered the room. In the beginning, when the park opened, the guides were great, but now they are terrible and phoning it in. And the movies are just totally outdated. I realize there are some there that are totally classics, but much as I love Alien, I don't think it has a place in that ride. And I don't think the gangster/Western genres hold the same cultural relevance they did.

AK -- I'd like to see the whole Dinoland USA area revamped.

I am curious as to what attraction people think is long overdue for a permanent refurbishment. Many rides are on the rumor list at various parks to be replaced so what is the consensus here. Again only one answer is allowed. For me it is easy

Stich ride.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I so wish they never changed that over from the Alien Encounter. I think that may have been my favorite attraction of all time. So intense!

I'm not sure about a ride, but the Country Bear Jamboree seems really old and outdated to me and I'd like to see something in it's place.

Interesting so many votes for Stitch. My kids like it. They end up quoting Stitch's chili dog or whatever for the rest of the day. 11, 7, 5 were their ages last trip. 11 had been on it the trip before that.

Tree house, no way. That should stay. Don't look at it as a ride, more of a nice photo-op / time passer while someone is waiting 20 min for a Dole Whip. It goes so far back and is a visual centerpiece for that east half of Adventureland.

I agree with EO, there is no point to this.

Carousel needs constant update to be current.

Energy Adventure needs to have current energy stuff.

TGMR needs to have current movie stuff. Convert this from movies kids never heard of to feature Guardians of the Galaxy, etc, and you've got a mega hit that would be a tier-1 competing with TSMM and Rockin.

Tiki Room and Small World, come on people really suggest these? These are staple attractions that bring ppl from all over the world.

I think the Figment tech area needs an overhaul.

The movie after Maelstrom, nobody ever stayed for and was insanely boring. Good that's going. With Frozen bits playing, tons will stay for it.

I guess there aren't a lot of rides I think just plain need to go. Perhaps the Speedway... isn't the WDW one still gas powered? That is not very Tomorrowland friendly. Need to refurb this with energy efficient cars of the future not gas guzzling polluters of the 90s.

Stitch and Captain EO need to go and never come back. For rides which need either refurbished or updated would be Buzz Lightyear and The Great Movie Ride.

Carousel of Progress....really?!!:lmao:

That and Small World will not close (the last window at Carousel may be updated from time to time) as they were Walt's idea and were at the 64 World's Fair. I view Carousel as a good rest from the heat and walking (and personally I still find it entertaining).
