Why is Le Cellier so popular???????

Many reasons.

For us, we have never had a disappointing meal there (the Mushroom Filet is one of my favorite meals anywhere).

Plus, our options in WS have narrowed:

We don't like the "group seating" at Biergarten (loved it before the changes).

San Angel is not what it used to be.

Marrakkesh food is too bland for us (we do enjoy the Tangierine Cafe).

For us, it was the best meal in our 7 day trip. We all loved our food (me, DH, DD 7, DS 4 and DS2) We each chose an appetizer - I got the Shrimp Cocktail with Wasabi and it was too die for. My DH got the beef kebab thing and loved, my DD loved her cheese soup with breadsticks and even let me share (it was sooo good) and my DS's ate off our plates. For the entrees, all of them were wonderful and my filet was the best I've had anywhere including Ruth Chris (which is sometimes great and sometimes so-so) The only problem is my DS 4 decided my steak was better than his kids meal steak and decided to eat some of mine :rotfl: Gotta love a 4 year old with such great taste!

The dessert's were wonderful and they were still good the next day when we finished them out of the fridge in our room.

Bottom line - we had many good meals at WDW but this was the only one that was fine dining food that my picky DH could find something appealing on the menu and my kids were welcomed sinc eit's in a theme park andto boot is was 1 TS Credit which made it even better.

Can't ask for more than that

Cheddar cheese soup
Bread sticks
Maple Creme Brulee !

Oh yeah the steak too !!!! :goodvibes

And did I mention the Maple Creme Brulee ? :thumbsup2

Word of mouth! That got us in the door the first time and the great food (as mentioned, cheese soup, juicy steaks, etc.) have kept us coming back!! It's not a vacation until my crew has had their pretzel bread!! Not to mention, we all enjoy the dark, cozy, "away from the parks" feeling we get before heading out for an evening of fun at EPCOT. :)

Ill let you all (who have never been) know when I come back in September. We have never been but with all the hoopla on the board we just *had* to try it.

We ate there for the first time last Sept. We enjoyed it but it wasn't the "best meal ever" It was good. The shrimp appetizer was excellent-loved the presentation. The cheese appetizer plate was sort of funny. I think I had the Filet and my mom had the Sauteed Shrimp. We shared with each other-they were good. But my favorite part of the meal was the Maple Creme Brulee-So yummy! :woohoo: We liked the atmosphere and we really enjoyed that fact that since we had ADR we only waited about 5 min. They were seating walk-ups with a 20-30 min. wait. It was raining and the lobby was full. And you know how annoying someone else's wet poncho is against your legs :sad2:

We are returning this Sept. for dinner. I think we'll have to try the cheese soup this time.

I tried to make ressies for a Sunday night at the end of September. Forget it!! I had to "settle" on Alfredo's. But I hear that's good too. Hope So!!!

Le Cellier has basic, serviceable food concentrated on steak, which Americans love, and is only one credit on the dining plan.
