Why is BLT so hard to book?

I understand BLT is a new Disney resort, and VERY convenient to the MK, but why is it so hard to book a DVC reservation there? I called on the first day I was able to book non-home resort reservations and every date I threw out was unavailable.

Is there a secret to getting a reservation there?

October 13th-October 20th.

I know it's the FWF and MNSSHP, but even when I logged in to dvcmember.com and did the "book a reservation" option, every date I put in there from present day until the end of the year was booked at BLT. I'm wondering if they hold rooms. We've had luck getting into Boardwalk during our October stay, but not this year either. I guess Fall is becoming popular for Disney vacations.

There's no holding of rooms. You are only 4 months out from your October dates and within the 7 month window even for the end of the year. You need to book earlier, I think, right at the 11 month (or 7 month if you don't own there) window.

Fall is so popular for DVC members, especially at the Epcot resorts, due to Food & Wine.

PS - just noticed you said you called on the first day you could book non-home reservations - for October 13, that would have been back in March - did you call then or did you call now?

It's a very popular resort and popular time for DVC owners. Best advice would be to own there and book at the 11 month window. Even as an owner when we tried to book very far out, several of the options weren't available. They do open up, so keep trying. Hope you catch a cancellation

Thanks, thelionqueen. In July, our DVC loan will be paid off, and right now, we have no interest in taking out another one. We're on the waitlist, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed and...wait. )

because it is walking distance to the MK - the only WDW/DVC resort that is (besides CR)

lots of DVC members love the MK - so walking to it is a plus. also love the TOW (lounge or deck) for watching Wishes - it is really great.

for the standard view room you can basically forget it - but at 7 months you should be able to get lake view.

standard view rooms are hard to get because there are so few - it stops at the 5th floor.

And all those reasons are exactly why we try to book there, too. We have a 22 month old, a 4 month old, and one on the way. Most days will be spent at Magic Kingdom and BLT is so perfect! One day, hopefully!!

You can buy contracts at different resorts. However, you can only use the points from that resort's contract to book at 11 months, you can't combine points from different resorts until the seven-month window opens.

Keep trying. I tried to book BLT at the 7 month mark for Nov. Nothing available so I booked AKL. The next week I checked the DVC website every day and was able to switch to BLT LV. Things change every day...keep checking. Good luck!

I agree, keep trying. Last week I was able to book Studio/Lake View for July 4th week. I was shocked, but happy.
