Why I may be done with Disney

I decided to call Disney to just see if there was a pin attached to my name- why not right? The CM told me, in not a nice way, that they don't offer discounts. I have to bring the discount to them. I am done. Could they make this any harder? Have to book dining 6 months in advance, everyone else is throwing discounts at me and I have to call and have a snotty answer? I am done with it. (maybe)

Sorry you were spoken to that way. I got two pins and one was sent via U.S. Mail and one was sent via email. I don't believe her information was incorrect. I just believe the way the CM spoke to you was wrong. If Disney is something that brings you joy, don't let one person ruin it for you. There are many nice CM's that work for the company.

I just called and spoke to a supervisor- and was told the same thing that her information was correct and that he was sorry she spoke to me that way. Whatever. At this point it's not worth the effort. Dana

Many people here have called and had a pin attached to their name, so that CM was wrong in more ways than 1. I just hang up on a rude CM and call back, don't let one snotty person be the end of your magic.

Not to stir the pot, but just so I'm understanding correctly, are you upset because there wasn't a pin for you or her attitude towards you?
I think I read that they were no longer attaching pins this way. So she may have been correct.
I'm sure she, and all the other CMs, are getting this question a 100 times a day. They're probably just over it. Don't get me wrong, she should've been nice about it. It may have just gotten the best of her.
Call back and talk to someone else. I've read people have had nasty CMs on the phones but, I've had nothing but great conversations with every single CM I've ever spoken to so, I know there's still CMs out there that are more than happy to help!

I am not upset because there was no pin. Our tripped is booked, our place tickets are booked- so we were going pin or no. I am VERY upset by the total attitude and demeanor of the person on the phone. The bottom line is this- I am willing to pay full price for my child to experience the magic (exactly because it's magic) but I am not willing to pay full price and have un-magical things happen.

I'm sorry that the CM was rude, but her information may have been technically correct.

Disney doesn't necessarily offer discounts to the public. The have PINS and promotions. If you don't have a PIN addressed specifically to you and there is no promotion running during your dates....Disney doesn't offer discounts.

PIN codes are not publically released and there has been hit and miss info that CMs have been told they cannot check for them but you must recieve them by mail/email.

Does that mean all CMs will answer you as the one you reached did? Nope. Try calling again and see if another CM will check for you.

But, keep in mind that Disney is not obligated to offer discounts to anyone. Not even annual passholders who frequently buy APs for the discount benefit. Disney can choose at any time to not offer discounts, to black out dates, to end promotions, to offer very limited availability of promotions.

If other resorts are "throwing discounts at you" them perhaps you should take advantage of them :confused3

That being said, there are promotions running on the WDW website, one until mid-June and the other until mid-August. Disney won't offer fall discounts until they feel they have reason to do so (lower bookings than usual etc.).

Maybe I wasn't really clear- it's not about the pin. It was about the attitude I got on the phone.

:goodvibes Ok. Understandable.
Just please remember that you will have more magical than non-magical experiences. One crabby person should not make or break your vacation. Crabby people are working all over... if I stopped patronizing the places where I've had one crabby person, I'd be hungry and naked!
That being said, go and have fun, if someplace else has offered you something better, then take it if you'd like.

Last week I had contact with a rude and uninformed CM, I asked to speak with a supervisor and then I called back and got the best CM ever. The first one didn't know what the room tax was, continued to give me a reservation price that was incorrect, was blaming the computer and talking to himself. Bottom line is that if a CM isn't helpful or is rude, call back and get someone who's better. :)

Agreed - also complete any of the surveys that they offer. I know thet last couple of times that I called they asked me to "stay on the line to complete the survey".

Just a quick note, I had to edit the sentence of mine that you quoted. I had written to call back and get someone who is rude. Duh, me.
