Why Doesn't Sw Give A Ding To Indy?

Why don't you ever see a DING from SW for flying in/out of Indy? It seems they love the northeast locations, but don't care about the midwest. What do you think my chances are for a Ding the first week of June?

SW uses "Dings" to fill flights. With the demise of ATA out of Indy, their biggest discount competitor in that market went "Poof!" So it would appear that the flights out of Indy seem to fill themselves without SW having to resort to using Dings. This is a bummer because we used to drive four hours to IND to save a lot of $$$ going to WDW.... No more.

but, it's almost as close for us (in Warsaw) to drive to Midway in Chicago. That's what we're doing in July. $435 for 4 of us non-stop to Orlando. Can't beat it!

How far are you from Chicago?

Waiting for the 1st week too. I was on the phone with them(SW) when they released the last round of flight. All IND_MCO were priced 147.00 at the lowest. I booked out of Midway for 99, since have been able to rebook out of Indy for 79.00. Hoping it will drop again, sure miss those 39.00 Dings:guilty: Good Luck

Firecracker, we are 4+hours from Chicago. We live in New Castle, so that wouldn't work. Plus there are 8 of us going. I currently have the $79 fare each way for all of us, but was just wanting a bit of a savings. This is a girl scout troop (3 h.s. girls) who have earned all of their money @ $7500 from selling over 15000 boxes of cookies in the past 2 years. So any extra savings that I can pass on down to them is tons of pixie dust.:grouphug: They are doing 10 days at the parks :dance3:

Have you checked Airtran. They have pretty decent non-stop fares out of Indy. We just booked for July at a pretty decent fare. We are also considering booking for late October with Airtran since that fare isn't too bad either.

I agree SW Dings have been pretty few and far between from Indy to Orlando. Southwest has raised there fares considerably out of Indy to Orlando for some reason. I've been really relying on Airtran the last year. For what it's worth I haven't had any problems flying with Airtran.

Oh! I forgot to mention Northwest. They fly non-stop from Indy to Orlando. Last I checked there fares were pretty good as well for this Summer.

We've stopped flying southwest out of Indy -they are outrageous on prices here lately. We've booked with Northwest for our May trip - $137.00 roundtrip. And we booked with Airtran for Christmas/New Years week - $197.00 roundtrip. ;)

Ask and you shall receive. Dings just released for Indy to Orlando $65 one-way through May 31st.

I know, I just saw that, but we are leaving on June 1st. can't change the dates either. But, I thought I would never see a DING for INDY:hippie: Now I just need one for June dates and I will be just peachy

Even without ATA, AirTran is a direct competitor in Indy, with several non-stop flights to Orlando every day. We're 2 hours from Indy - but unless the price difference is great or I'm going on a short trip -by the time I drive to Indy and pay to park - I've eaten most of the savings vs. flying out of my hometown airport. AirTran also serves Bloomington, IL - which is an hour away and has free parking.

Just got an Indy to MCO Ding thru May 119.00:lmao: :rotfl: , this morning internet fare was 87.00:confused3 Doesn't seem like such a great deal to me:scared1:
