I would like to vent...my DH & I can't wait until May 2005 to return to WDW so we have decided to take advantage of room & air deals & go for a weekend. So we fly in on Friday night & leave Sunday night. I would love to get a 2day hopper pass. We know we could do the length of stay pass but 171/pp is a lot of $$ when we will probably do 3 parks at the most, more likely two. So we are doing four one-day passes ( two per day). Also, when I asked about bounce-back passes, the rep at CRO said they do not have them any longer.
Thanks for letting me vent!

They do their market research and I'll bet if they could make money doing 2 day hoppers they would do it.

I read somewhere that most people come to Disney for 4 or 5 days. Hence you have 4 and 5 day park hoppers everywhere.

Have you thought about getting an AP? If you are going in May 2005, and between your quickie weekend and your May 2005 trip, if you plan on at least 8 park days, the AP works out to be the best deal.

The other thing you could do - and we have done this before - is get a 7 day hopper and use them at your weekend trip and take them home and save them for the next trip. Remember, Park Hoppers NEVER expire. And you can most times order 7 day hoppers from ticket brokers and get a good deal on them vs. buying from Disney.

Hope one of these options can work for you.

Actually, the price for Unlimited Park Hoppers (the new name for LOS passes) would be $126.75 for 2 days/1 night.

Since you're arrive late Friday, you should be able to purchase the passes at check in. If you purchase the UPH at a resort (instead of in advance), you should be able to drop either the arrival or departure day.

So--- two days of unlimited hopping, $126.75 each.

How does that compare to what you were planning?

If I were going for such a short time, I would just pick two parks (MK and Epcot, probably) and just buy two one -day passes, esp since you are going again in less than a year.

I was quoted 171/pp for the length of stay pass. How did you figure 126/pp? Please tell me more!!

How long will your trip be in May? Buying one-day passes seems like such a waste.. I would go for the longest pass I could afford and then use the remaining days when I went back in May.. ::yes::

$ 171 would be the price for a 3 day/2 night pass, $126 is 2 day /1 night.

If you buy the pass in advance (over the phone or as part of a package), they will ONLY sell you one that matches the entire length of your stay. That's why they quoted you the $171.

But, there's a trick! :teeth: If you wait and purchase your UPH at check in, the agent at the front desk of your resort has more leeway! These agents can and will allow you to drop either your arrival day or your departure day from the pass.

Since you arrive Friday night, you can have the resort make your UPH active for Saturday and Sunday only, and save $$$ !

wow!! i didn't know you could do that!!! dh and i are trying to plan a quick getaway at the end of november. we can't afford to go for the full time we had originally planned, so we had just planned on buying one day passes for us. the only parks we want to see something in are: epcot, mgm, and, of course, attend MVMCP...which we won't need an additional admission for. i've been trying to figure out how we can purchase park hoppers without wasting money...and i think you've just helped me!!

i love the DIS...

One more question on this.

I am going with a couple of friends in November. We will be arriving late Friday and leaving early on Monday. So we will only be able to do the parks Sat and Sun. Will we be able to do the UPH for only the 2 days or will they be able to only drop the arrival OR departure day????

We are trying to budget for our girls only trip.. Thanks!

You can usually only drop one of the days... lots of folks get around this by making two separate reservations. One for the first night, room only (no pass). Then one for the rest of the stay and drop the final day from the UPH.

The only catch with this is that it's possible (though not very likely) that you could have to switch rooms. And there will be two deposits since there are two separate reservations.

(Everything I know about this stuff I learned on the DIS! :teeth: )

Thanks Kathy,

We are staying at OKW with DVC, I think I will give them a call this week and ask about this.

Thanks for all your help!
