Why Does the Military Hate President Bush?

In the last two weeks, six retired U.S. Marine and Army generals have denounced the Pentagon planning for the war in Iraq and called for the resignation or firing of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

As a staunch and ardent supporter of President Bush I was initially dismayed at this news. Here we have top military leaders – men who actually commanded forces in Iraq – denouncing the President’s top advisor for short-sighted incompetence.

But after I thought about it a while, I finally figured what was going on and I was able to again relax. I had momentarily forgotten that the military is staffed almost entirely by left-wing commies who can’t make it in the real world. The military has never hid its extreme dislike of Republican administrations. So why should I be surprised with this latest news. Military leaders have always hated America and long to bring comfort to our enemies. No wonder they are speaking out so forcefully against President Bush. Army Generals and West Coast Liberals are notorious for their disdain of President Bush. Personally I’m getting tired of listening to them.

So you see, this isn’t anything new. Just the same old Marine Generals doing whatever they can to bring shame to their country. All I can say is good thing Bush is in charge. You need a strong president to protect America from these types of America-hating radicals.

I can not tell if you are serious or jokeing.
Please tell me this is satire. Right?

Maybe I need more sleep.

It's probably all the dope they smoked in Vietnam! Those darn Marines, no honor there. They've always been loose cannons. :sad2:

This is what your 3rd thread on the exact same subject. Sad really?
On the subject of why the military is so dissatisifed with the current administration, this is actually my first post.

But it's nice to know that I have a dedicated audience that keeps close track of my opinions dadto. If you like, I can always PM you in advance of any new thread I create. You should know that this is an honor I reserve only for my biggest fans.

Yes, we all know what a "staunch" supporter you are.

ETA: I would give alot more weight to your opinions (which may be valid at times) if it were not disguised as satirical sarcasm. Just come out and say you hate Bush.

I think it’s a sweeping generalization to say that the military hates President Bush based on the actions of a few of its members, albeit high-ranking members. All the servicemen and women I know support the President—even those who have been deployed to Iraq.

How exactly is discussing politics sad? Why don't you start your own thread for people who only agree with you? :rolleyes2

As for the other question--yes, it's satire. Military members/families have been overwhelmingly right-leaning in recent history (of course not all, my cousin begged to switch shifts so he could be below decks during the infamous "Mission Accomplished" fly-in) The irony in this case is that the criticism is coming from Bush's base--people who "should" be syncophants and can't just be dismissed as myopic liberals.

None Stauncher Auntie, none stauncher.

Which is all the more reason it gets my blood a boiling when liberal-loving, lily-livered, America-hating Marine Generals start complainign about our President.

I think they have forgotten that President Bush himself served in the Military. And he did so with honor and distinction. Maybe if these Generals had followed President Bush's example, I would be more forgiving of their treasonous comments.

Well okie-dokey then.

I'm not really into flattery dadto. Unless, of course, you are going to compare me to wildly successful Hollywood actors. You need to stop this, I'm starting to blush.

Go ahead and leave me your address. The official MossMan T-shirt is yours. You earned it my friend.

Okay now on to something far more important; is satirical sarcasm redundant?

:lmao: Oh, MossMan, you don't know how much I needed a good laugh today.

Thanks! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Uh, yeah... when they could find him! Oh yeah, he was already a student at Yale before his hitch was up from the Texas ANG. Hmmm, maybe they should have looked for him there! Of course, we all know that the rest of the soldiers who actually went to Vietnam were given that same consideration.

For today's soldiers and generals ... I don't know, I guess I would be pretty ticked off to find that I was sent to war -- only to prove that the reason this war was sold to the American people didn't really exist. Hans Blix and the UN investigating team couldn't find any evidence of WMD, yet Rummie said that "They (the administration & military) would prove they were there and a threat to all citizens. We're still waiting... :rolleyes1

The military is again being used as a police force, something they aren't really designed to do. They are designed to wipe out an enemy military force "ala shock and awe" and they did that job wonderfully. Now they are faced with a splintering population and general unrest. The vast majority of the civilian projects which were to be completed within the first few months are no where near completion (and many have not even started), yet they are far over budget. It's tough to have one guy working when he needs 5 security guys guarding him... But hey, at least Halliburton got their no-bid contracts.

Unlike during Vietnam, America is supporting it's soldiers and military. What it is not supporting are those who lied putting these good men in harms' way. If Iraq was going as well as the administration would like America to believe, why are all visits by cabinet members unannounced? They'll announce that President Bush will be visiting President Fox two weeks in advance, but for Iraq the administration slips in and out like a thief in the night.

To speak so ill of our President, you must either be a tree hugging, owl-protecting, registered Democrat from Oregon or a member of the military.

I'm guessing a member of the military.

As I posted earlier, I'm just glad our President is protecting America from the likes of your ilk.

Let me know when you interview the other 8000 generals.

Absolutely right Dawn, good of you to point this out.

Listen up all you America-hating military types: your opinions mean nothing. As dawn has pointed out, America doesn't care what the military thinks about what is happening in Iraq. So keep your traps shut.

Dismissed.
