Why does our holiday feel so long ago! Do you suffer with the post holiday blues?

I really dont understand how come it feels like months since we have been to Florida, yet it would be 3 weeks on Friday? :confused3

I know I miss it terribly and probably suffer with the blues for months. Is the feeling that it has been ages since we have been due to:-

- Missing Florida
- We did so many things out there
- Time difference

Whatever it is. I feel like this everytime I come back home.

Does anyone else feel this when they get back? Do you feel the post holiday blues? I know I am. Its horrible. If only immigration were so simple I would be on the next plane out there.

You have the blues bad , so get planning your next trip then the excitement will come back & put a smile on your face:goodvibes
Cheer up we are still here for you:thumbsup2 :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

I know exactly what you mean, we've only been home about 10 days and our holiday feels like it was months ago.

I think it feels worse in the Winter, as it really does feel like ages since you felt the lovely warm sunshine

My only remedy is to book another holiday, and get in the planning mood. That's what I'm doing, though I'm getting a headache trying to figure out this Disney Dining malarkey ;)

I always feel like that when we get back, planning another holiday definatley
makes me feel better:goodvibes

I get the initial sadness when we get home, which lasts a couple of weeks, but then I'm OK again. After about three months (right about now actually) I start aching to go back. I look at dates and prices and make itineraries in my head.

Dbf doesn't want to go back this year, though, so I've got even longer to wait :sad2:

I get it every time!! The only way I can get rid of it is to book another trip! We always go to Disneyquest on the last day and I use the internet there to start pricing up flights etc!!

Roll on August 5th!!

I always start feeling depressed on our last night because I know the next day we've got to come home...........the only way is to plan another trip. Oh no, you've started me off......this time last year I was so excited with only a few weeks to go..... :sad1:

I did not get post holiday blues, I felt happy that I have had the chance to go and can look forward to next time. Try to look at it positively and think of all the trips head of you as DVC members, :goodvibes

I am planning my thirtieth birthday trip, which is in January 09. I cant book our DVC room until February. I dont want to put a count down until the accomodation is booked. I have started to look into what I want to do and where to go etc.. I am really excited about that. I also keep looking at flights to go before August to use my AP for the last time. Its not going to happen :sad2: Not until I get mega cheap flights and the tickets for the kids and Bruce drop immensly. :sad1:

Everytime I go I am really sad I am back. When the kids are old enough and left school. I will definately work out there for a year.

It's a horrible feeling isn't it! Coming back to reality! Me and my hubby always feel the same when we come home, especially if you travel in the winter months and then come home to the cold  but Like most people have said we book the next one not long after:thumbsup2 then get into planning mode. Just booked last week to go April 29th - May 14 but this will be our last trip for a couple of years as we will be trying for baby no 2 after this holiday:cloud9: Planning the next one means it's something to look forward to.
What I always think is that Florida and Disney are not going anywhere and we are fortunate to be able to keep going. Funny thing is I wouldn't live out there, cause I think after a while you would get bored and it would lose the appeal, but then on the other hand we will never go anywhere in Europe for our main holiday, last min hols for a week yes, but never for our main holiday. Why pay roughly what it costs to go to the states to go to Say Spain, Greece etc? I know where I would rather spend my money:rolleyes1

Totally agree with you there. We are a family of 5. Only certain places will have rooms for us. We were meant to go to Majorca in August. Yes it was cheap enough to book seperately. Seperate flights and accomodation. I just couldnt book it in the end. Computer keeps saying no......... Or at least something is stopping us from actually booking it.

know that feeling too:hug:
once I'm home it feels like I've never been away
the last 2 times have'nt been too bad as we rebooked on board for DCL and the time before we got DVC so now we know that we will be going every year

Think the worst was just before our AP's expired would loved to have used them one more time ,

I like your style! :)

I always get the blues even after a non-Disney holiday. It's not even as if 2 weeks together as a family is always blissful on holiday - we irritate each other beyond belief sometimes, but at least we can choose to do what we do when we want to. It is so refreshing not to be tied to work/school timetables for a while.

We've decided only to visit WDW every 3 or 4 years but that doesn't stop me enjoying planning trips we'll never take for the other years (is that sad?).

Oh bless that must be awful for you. Well here is some pixy dust for your next trip. :wizard:

I definately have post-holiday blues, this morning is the first time i have woken up feeling sort of normal body clock wise and i came back on the 23rd. I am cold and i am sick of wind and rain so would love some florida sunshine.

I keep saying i am disneyed out after 4 trips in 2 years:woohoo: and yet I'm still on these boards, I still randomly price up trips for this year, like you say there is the AP due to expire in August, I reckon if someone waved a wand and granted me a week in WDW this year I'd go in a flash, although it may involve more hotel time than park time;) But there is this magic feeling that you get when you go under the arches, you know you're home, you can feel it all over, in every hidden mickey and friendly CM smile, I may be parked out but I will never be disneyed out, its important to distinguish between the two:lmao: Yep a week lying out by the pool at a disney hotel cocktail in hand sounds fab to me...with maybe a character meal......ooh and a quick spin on Everest......

somebody stop me! Don't fancy another August week do ya hun?:wizard: (only joking Bruce)

Tell me about it. I am always looking at flights and said how about a water park holiday instead. The flights are always too expensive!

We cant agree where we want to go this year as well :sad2: I might do is just keep putting some money a side and perhaps just book a cheap flight I dont know. Its not that easy when you have children though.

What I would give to go back. My body clock was fine, but I think its the forever day and night shifts I do. It never bothers me now. Thankfully or if it does the first morning I wake up I feel like I have been hit by a truck.

Tell me about it!

I havent been to disneyworld since 2005! But staight after i ame back, i wanted to go again, same when i came back from disneyland california in the summer! All my friends call me disney obsessive, since i'm planning me and my boyfriends first trip to disney for this septemeber (Paris, but he's never been to disney before, so i thought i'd break him in gently!) However stupid eurostar wont let us book trains till 4 months in advance! Horrid people! Adding insult to injury tho, my parents are going to WDW in october for their aniversary, and my mom (whos just a big of a disney freak as me, and is on these boards too! Hi mom!) keeps shoving it my face! Argh!

I am also planning our 2010 trip (i've been planning since 2006) to WDW together as our graduation present. I am excoted and i still have 2 years to go!!!! Stupid vrigin adverts keep getting me excited!

Anywho i know how u feel!
