as a christian it's not my place to judge how anyone else practices their faith. as a voter in a country where church and state are supposed to be separate entities, a candidate's religious beliefs so long as they will not utilize them as the basis for making governing decisions are not my concern.

If they won't use their religious beliefs in doing the day to day job, why go to such lengths to tell voters? Not much differant than nasally voice or nice smile if the belief doesn't affect how you decide things.

yeah, I've seen that photo a few times, but it never loses it's impact.

I was a gung ho McCain supporter in 2000 and I really thought he was going to win. I liked his common sense approach to things and I loved that he called out the televangelists for their "intolerance". Of course, by the time the primary hit NJ in JUNE-GW had it wrapped up.

Sadly, he doesn't seem to be the same guy he was in 2000-although now that he has the nomination that could change.
