Why does everyone who rents or trades points have very low post counts? Do people start a new name just to sell points?

There are several reasons.

Some posters do have a new user name for use on the R/T Board..I guess to protect their regular posting anonymity?

Some posters only use the DIS to list their R/T transactions, and just don't post in the other areas.

Some posters are new DVC members, and are genuinely new to the boards.

Personally, I agree, I would prefer dealing with someone with a higher post count, but that isn't too say those with lower post counts aren't reliable and honest.

Could be several reasons. They might be new DVC owners who just joined the DIS. In that case, I'd sure spend some time talking to them to ensure they know what they are talking about when they try to rent points.

They might also be longtime DIS members who just don't post much. I didn't look at all of the listings, but I saw several with only a handful of posts, but they'd been DIS members for years...and one of them said they had references you could check.

I'm glad you're being cautious, but you really have to look at the whole package when you are evaluating an owner to rent from.

I was kinda thinking about renting points and wondering if I should use a new name!
I think I'll just use this name when it's time.
