Why does dvc literature only come in spouses name?

DH and I only joint owners of DVC property yet all the correspondence comes in his name only. :teacher: I get so annoyed about it and am going to call DVC but thought I would find out if this is true for others as well. The most annoying thing is DH pays no attention to Disney things and nevr looks at DVc correspondence. We only bought because I pushed to and he finally relented after cramped quarters at the BC concierge.
So is Disney trying to save on the cost of ink?:confused3

My husband gets annoyed because everything comes in my name! I'm not sure why that is.

You both are members but your DH is the primary on the account. The same is true for many accounts. DW and I have credit cards in both our names but the statements come printed with my name because I am the primary on the account.

We are also joint owners, but most of the communications are addressed to my husband. But to be honest, I don't really pay attention. Alot of the things we get are addressed to him, but he rarely even opens them. He's happy with me doing all the finance and any correspondence. I don't think he's ever seen a reservation confirmation since we joined, but it's addressed to him even if I do ALL the booking.

Something really funny happened recently. I thought I would see what happens if I booked the Magical Express request through his website log in.:scratchin I usually do it and it always comes in his name. So this time, I thought I would see if it makes any difference. Well, it came in MY name.:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: . I don't understand their methods. :confused3 If I book it through my log in and name, it goes to him. If I use his name, it is addressed to me. They're so silly!:rotfl:

Either way, I'm just glad we get it!::yes::

Most mailings come in my name - BUT they are always addressed to MR. Linda Smalec. I'm a MRS., not a MR. Linda is not a male name! We checked our original purchase papers and they are correct. I don't know where this mistake came from but it is impossible to change! :confused3 I've called and wrote and talked to CMs at member meetings and can't seem to get it changed. It's been going on for five years now, so we just laugh it off :rotfl2:

Everything comes in just my name too. I appreciate it though, because that way DH can't object when I tear into the DVC before I even get back to the house from the mailbox.

Usually they pick up the name that is listed first on the deed but sometimes it's just what they type in first.

Most everything we get comes in my DH's name. I think you are right though. If the property is jointly owned, mail should be addressed to both people :)

I did all the footwork for DVC - contacted TTS, filled out all the paperwork, sent all the forms, got all the certified checks... EVERYTHING! All DH did was sign the forms where I told him to and all the mailings are addressed to him!

If I make a reservation with my membership number the confirmation letter comes in my name. All "general" correspondence or correspondence related to our ownership is in his name. I assume (and please no flaming here, I'm not trying to be controversial, just stating my guess) it's because he's the primary name on the loan, which is because he's the wage earner in our house (I'm a SAHM). It irks me but I understand it in our case--but if we both had jobs outside the house (or worked from home or whatever--If we both got paychecks ;)) and it was still in his name I'd be ticked ;).

That's excatly the way it is for us. I do everything for Disney and DH just enjoys the trips, but apparently he is the primary so he gets all the paperwork. But I ge the mail, so I am the one that opens it. Does not really bother me.:confused3

I know my guide asked me who would be making most of the reservations and dealing with MS most often, me or DH. When I said it would be me, he said that he would put my name on as the primary then. Everything comes addressed to me.

My guide asked me the same thing (we bought over the phone) and I told her it would be me, but the bulk of the correspondence (except the confirmation letters for ressies made with my membership #) still comes in his name :confused3

We are joint owners and I am listed as main contact, yet everything comes in DH's name. Chalk it up to old and traditional patriarchal ideas, IMHO.

No reason for me to get upset over it, as I don't want to waste member service's time in having them correct this.

When my guide set up our account, he asked us who would be the primary contact for all DVC information. Everything comes in my name since I did all the research. DH is just along for the ride.

Exactly the same situation as the OP here and I find it very irritating - but not enough to make a fuss about it I guess. DH knows next to nothing about DVC despite our having been members for 12 years.

It can't be that difficult to address correspondence to both/all parties on the contract :confused3

By POS DVC requires a principle contact and will mail to that person.

I alone bought into DVC last week and DH is listed as an associate. Yet he got a letter from our guide last week welcoming him into the club. I think it is because he set up to original tour with our guide but I was a little annoyed to say the least.

Good guess, but I'd say no. I'm a SAHM, DH is the only name on the loan, but everything comes addressed to me.

And after reading Dean's comment, I remember our guide telling me that I would be listed as the primary contact since I clearly knew more about DVC then DH did :)
