Why do you love BWV's?

Can those of you who love BWV's let me know why?

We are going to try to buy a resale and we've narrowed it down to BWV and BCV. I like BCV but only because the pool looks so great. DH thinks we should go BWV because there are so many more options and they are priced a bit lower so we could potentially buy 170 as opposed to 150 at BCV (not that there are any 150's at BCV now anyway!).

How is the parking at BWV also? I think we will drive sometimes and fly others so we'll only have a car on some trips...

Thanks for any help! Can't wait to hear "Welcome Home" from somewhere!

We own most of our points at BWV and we're very happy with the lower point stays in the Standard view, and the fact that it's so close to Epcot and MGM. However, since you asked about parking, we were totally unprepared for the hassle to find a self-parking space from 4PM to later nightime hours on our trip in December, the week before Christmas. Since we could valet park for free (tips only) this isn't a major problem, but we were surprised, it was cut-throat in the parking lot. I think there's another self parking across the street, but we didn't realize that.

We wouldn't give up our BWV for BCV, but we do like to stay at BCV at Flower show time, and that hasn't been a problem for us so far.

I like BWV for the proximity to Epcot and MGM. I stay there at certain times of year like Food and Wine Festival or Christmas. As the villas themselves go, my favorite is OKW, and I use it for my more relaxed vacations.

We own 3 contracts only at BWV. I love the lower point option...most of our stays have been there...end of the long hallways are my favorite rooms. The staff is another real favorite...we have made true friends that we see trip after trip. While the pool isn't the SAB it is still fun and my kids do love it. It still has a convient walk to MGM or Epcot.

We usually valet park especially when the parking lot is fuller. Though we have used the regular parking lot many times.

Points at BWV can always be used at other resorts so if you'd like to stay at BCV then just book a vacation there..

Good luck

We love BWV because of all the activity. There's always things going on and the Community Hall is great. With that being said, we love BCV also, so we're going to split our stays between a studio at BCV, then a 1 BR at BWV.

We chose BWV because of the proximity to Epcot and MGM. The standard view option is really nice. There is a lot to do there, and the pool is fine for us. Gotta love ESPN club and the Boardwalk Bakery!

Choices. Thats what makes BWV's the way to go. Its the only resort that lets you choose a great view if you want, while letting you save points if that is what you choose. It is centrally located to two different parks. It offers more entertainment options 2-3 minutes away then any other resort.

I will agree that the pool at BCV beats BWV's hands down. I also like the fact that you can walk inside BVC to restraunts where at BWV you have to go outside.

But BWV has a BIG plus, being able to sit in on your balcony and overlook the boardwalk, the lake and see over to Epcot.

The lower standard view points is a factor to consider. Also the ability to book the guaranteed boardwalk view.

This was fun to read cause I just passed ROFR yesterday, and am planning my first stay in May at my home resort of BWV.

There are certainly many people who ADORE BCV. I think a large part of that is the pool, which is really nice. But, and again I haven't stayed at BCVs either (did stay in the hotel part), the DVC Villas are behind the hotel, right?,
so there is no option of getting that great water view that you can guarantee at BWV.

I don't think you can go wrong at either place...but if financials are a concern, I 'd go with the best contract with the most banked points from 2004. (Keep in mind that BWV has higher maintenance costs)

We joined DVC with BCV (I feel a poem coming on...). But we decided to add on points, through resale, with BWV. Some reasons:

1) A really pretty and wonderfully themed resort. You really do feel like you are "down shore" :sunny: . The lobby and public areas are bright, sun-drenched, and full of interesting knick-knacks. The pool is more modest than Stormalong Bay, of course, but my wife likes the slide better. (Her butt finds it more agreeable...)

2) Great selection of eateries: The Bakery, the Flying Fish, Spoodles...

3) Location, location, location. A 15 minute walk in either direction will take you to MGM or Epcot. No bus, no muss, no fuss! .

4) The place is positivley BUZZING at night -- which can sometimes be annoying if you're trying to hit the hay for early mornings -- but we've always found the atmosphere festive and fun.

We have stayed in a BWV 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom, and also in a BCV 1 bedroom and studio. Our home base is BWV.

The SAB pool is really the Ta Mahal of pools. It is truly fantastic for little toddlers and that shallow sandy section occupies them for hours, whereas at the BWV the kiddie pool is small.

Otherwise, I love the BWV decor, proximity to all, nightlife, castmembers, etc. If you can get the points, buy them! As someone else just said, you can always book a stay over on the other side of the lake, anyway! ;)

Well ... since 'BWV' is part of my user name here ... I suppose I should pipe-up. I'll warn you that my reason is rather specific.

My husband and I love BWV is because it is the closest timeshare available to the Dolphin's, Swan's, and Yacht Club's conference facilities. We attend an annual event that uses all three locations ... and prefer staying onsite w/out paying the conference room rates. ('Onsite' for us is relative to the event -- not to Disney parks or trappings. Strange, I know ... but true. ;) )

The first and most obvious answer is the Boardwalk itself. We have stayed in some great rooms with fantastic views of fireworks and boats but your only in the room for a short time and what we like the most is location to parks, including the waterparks because they beat any pool at any resort. We like strolling to MGM or epcot. We like just relaxing on the BW enjoying a live show or playing some games at the video game room, espn club or the clubhouse near quiet pool.We drive down every trip and parking is very convienent and close to rooms. As a matter of fact we generally will drive DTD at nite to DQ rather then wait for buses at nite to bring you back to resort.

I am an OKW owner. I love both BWV and BCV, too. If I were buying extra points I'd have a hard time choosing between BWV, BCV, VWL and OKW.

I like BWV because of the nighttime activities, the bakery for breakfast and just the boardwalk itself.

I think BWV's big plus is the option for standard view if you want to conserve points. That might sway me toward BWV vs VWL and BCV.

Most of the reasons already listed apply to us too! DBF does have a really weird reason though: he has a pet peeve about having to go outside to get to the villas buildings at BCV and VWL. At BWV, that's not the case. As soon as you enter the Boardwalk Resort, it's all one huge connected building, so the Villas aren't a separate building. He loves that about BWV. :p

Thanks again to everyone! We made an offer last night on a BWV contract - now if we make it through ROFR we'll be going "home"!!!!!
