I told DH tonight I want to go back to 35mm film, drop it off at CVS, pick it up, throw out the bad ones & shove the good ones in an album. Done.

Nooooo, instead, we take hundreds of digital pics. Keep them all. Try to fix any bads ones. Crop. Upload. Order prints. They sit because I INTEND to scrap them into some fabulous album YEARS later that no one else will even care about.

And this year alone, I've added learning a new camera, learning PhotoShop Elements 5, organizing & tagging 7 yrs of badly labeled & organized digital pictures, & NOW a Wishblade to my self imposed torture.

Someone please stop me.

I don't know about lewdyan1, but I'm laughing with you! Probably because I can totally relate to what you're saying!

Hey, I just noticed your toilet tag! I've done that too! Except in my case it was my sunglasses and they DID go in the toilet just as I flushed! It happened in a restroom at JCP. There was NO WAY I was gonna put my hand in there to retrieve them! When they were riding the wave, I honestly didn't think they would go down the hole. Imagine my shock when they DID!

Hmmm, hoarders anon might be a good thing for all the pics. Luckily I'm not a hoarder or clutterbug or shopper in other aspects of life. But, I do think 5000 photos in 7 yrs (mostly of Splash the cat) is probably alot. Ya think?

when ever you feel the urge to take another photo is when 210 pops up. Just open a session on the boards.
Technology Anon, I'll have to think about that. We would break the first rule though by being on the computer in the first place. Right?!?

Have you ever tried making a photobook? I am SO hooked on these, I think ALL my SB's will become photobooks from now on. If you don't feel like scrapping the pages like I do, a lot of places have templates that look scrapped and all you do is add your photos! It's a great showcase for all your photos! They make great coffee table books and are easy to haul around and show friends/family!

That's funny. Someone else suggested that to me also. I could do that just to catch up for the years. It would probably help some. Wonder how many photos can fit in one book? You can add pages too, right?

What the cheapest but best quality ones you've found? I know you had one fall apart on you.

I have been making a real hard attempt at trying to get things done off my "List of Things To Do". And if that means taking shortcuts that I normally wouldn't do, I'll try it. lol I finally got our taxes done...and paperwork filed away.

The book that came apart for me was mypublisher's paperback pocket book (their small one) but I also ordered their Classic Hardcover and I loved that one!!! I plan on doing Kira's album in the Deluxe Hardcover. They have a coupon right now on their website (main page) for 25% or 50% off!

I also looked at Shutterfly. They have some new books offered now like the 12x12 book as well as a "Digital Scrapbook" made for people like me who design digital layouts. Never ordered from them so I have no idea what their quality is like.

The only other one I did was from easypix.ca but I think that is only for Canadians. It wasn't as high quality as the mypub books though.

I wish I had more time to do Kira's book, I am excited to get it done but in between caring for her and doing housework, shopping, laundry, walking dogs and a little surfing, I just don't have the time. There's so many things I want to get done like updating my website (oh my, I need HOURS for that!) I want to make 2 videos, one of Kira and one of Lilo & Stitch), I want to finish her book (this will take forever, I took thousands of photos!) , I still need to get my DCL photobook printed....PLUS I am trying to lose some weight so I need to fit working out somewhere in there!

Thanks for the info. I'll check them out. I THINK the only trip I don't have into at least some type of album yet is our 2004 trip with my parents. I did some slideshows on DVD with the pics, but no album. A photobook would be great for that. And I get a free 8x8 Storybook from Shutterfly since I just bought the Wishblade from HSN (along with a bunch of other Shutterfly products). Just looked at the coupon & I see it expires May 9, 2007. Maybe I could make the 8x8 for my parents & a larger one for myself.

I better head off to bed. I have the WORST sleeping schedule now that I'm not working. Its alot like yours. We both seem to be up late a night. Sleep a couple of hours. Waken by DH leaving. Sleep. Waken by Splash. Sleep. 6 hrs total if I'm lucky.....pretty much in 2 hr chunks.

OMG: I had to sign back on to add I love Kira's picture. Cutey!!!! HOW did I even forget to post that? Definitely need sleep. Good night.

I can so relate to the photos. I have stacks upon stacks that need scrapped... I will get to these.. I'm determined... but with my list of what needs to be scrapped... I may never get them all done!

Disney has a Photobook with templates and such that you just drop in your photos and choose backgrounds, etc. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/photostore_lobby.aspx. I believe the book is $50 or $70 depending on cover type.
