Why do the debates have to be on network TV?

Yeah, yeah, I know... the presidential election is more important than Don't Forget the Lyrics. Blah, blah, blah. But they're not anywhere near as fun... especially after a long week at work.

Because not everyone has cable.

Are you kidding? I think this might be the most entertaining debate ever.

I have a feeling it might get a little nasty

I don't do nasty.

Guess I'll go rent a movie. Blah. I was looking forward to some karaoke-for-money-on-national-tv!

If you can't be bothered to watch the debates, then do the country a favor and DON'T VOTE. Everyone should know the issues, where the candidates stand and make an informed decision, 90 minutes of your time isn't too much to ask IMO.

If someone, at this point, does not know where the candidates stand on issues, they clearly live under a ****ing ROCK.

Both candidates have fancy websites that state where they stand on the issues and their plans for our country and do so in FAR MORE DETAIL than some 90-minute debate will!

Settle down, sparky. I'm not living under a rock. I know the issues, I know where the candidates stand. My decision is just as much informed as yours will be.

Wow that was rude. I'm not watching the debate because DS is watching CARS for the umpteenth time but DH is away on Army business and he is watching it and will paraphrase it for me later tonite.

My decision on whom to vote for was made long ago and unless something drastic happens then that isn't going to change because of this debate.

Do people honestly not make up their minds until the debate??

You're welcome to come over and watch CARS with us.

That's such a cute movie! I'll be right over :) Did you see they're making a sequel???

(And I ♥ your "take your child to work" thingy in your sig line!!!!)

Oh wow. DS will love another CARS movie. He loves to cheer during the race scenes. :rotfl:

We're big Star Wars fans here too. After CARS goes off we can start the trilogy then watch the pre-quels. :thumbsup2

I SOOOO could win that show. I can't even watch it because I get so mad when people mess up. Sadly though, I am not outgoing enough to try out for it myself. :)

I'll be in the hospital for the VP debate a day after having a baby. I bet they don't get Fox so I don't know what I am going to do. I suppose watching the debate and then turning it off immediately before I have to listen to the talking heads.

Oh yeah, I always know the lyrics and then yell at them when they're wrong. I'm not outgoing enough either... and I just know that if I got up the nerve to do it, I'd wind up with obnoxiously obsure categories!!

Ooooh... you're having a baby! How exciting!! The cute little girl in your siggy gets to be a big sister! Sending lots of pixie dust for an easy delivery!!!

I haven't made up my mind, but I doubt this debate will decide it for me. I was leaning
Mc Cain until he picked Palin, now I'm leaning Obama slightly, I want to see all the debates
before I decide.

That aside, I don't blame you, I wouldn't mind watching Don't Forget the Lyrics tonight myself,
it has been a long week! ;)

I am going to watch it tonight, so no problem there. What I AM annoyed about is the debates are on again next Thursday..come on, they are screwing with Grey's Anatomy and The Office!! Those debates should be on cable only.

Well, I stink at that show because I make up words to the songs so I never know the words. I'd be off after the first song! LOL

Yes, I'm watching tonight. Tivoing even so I can replay things too. I'm also having DD watch. I have made up my mind about my vote but I want to see these 2 men debate and see how they act.

While one can look at the websites about issues, I still think you can learn a lot by the debates.

Hehe... yeah it seems weird to have a season premier one week and then have it not be on the next.

I watched The Office for the first time last night and had to admit to my coworkers that I didn't really "get" it. I'm such a dork. They assured me that I just had to get used to the inside jokes, etc... So I've got my fingers crossed. I feel really left out of the Friday morning TV discussion!

Absolutely... I was kinda being facetious anyway. I'm just not in the mood for a presidential debate tonight.
