Why do some people NOT like a ground floor room?

Well, I've got three reasons for preferring anything but ground floor (which are probably all illogical :lmao:). First, I do feel a little bit safer. I'm not sure who breaks into hotel rooms anyway, but in my mind being higher up could be a deterrent. Second, I just like being up high (better views, more fun) :goodvibes Third, it seems like less of a possibility for things to crawl in your room when you're not on the first floor :scared:

I just posted almost the same thing - great minds think alike!!!! :wizard:

Me three. I travel to WDW on my own quite a lot. I always feel vulnerable when I'm on the ground floor level...and it doesn't matter whether I'm at POP or BWV. When I'm traveling with my dh and dd, I don't mind nearly as much. But, I just get a bit creeped out when I know that the out of doors is just on the other side of my door. When staying DVC, that patio can back up to woods, pools, or walkways...I just don't feel as 'protected' as I would like.

Thanks Pooh! I wasn't sure, because I've read a lot of posts over the years about families requesting 1st floor at Values because of strollers so that got me wondering.

Noise and security are why we like upper floors. Usually a better view too.
