Why do some people have black clouds in their life?

I just heard from a long time friend of mine, (I've known her over 20 years), and she always seems to have bad things going on in her life, it just doesn't seem fair sometimes. She is a wonderful person and she tries to be so positive, but sometimes I wonder why bad things happen to good people. Just as I was leaving to move to Italy last year (a year ago this month as a matter of fact), she lost her fourth baby and now I hear that she has lost yet another one, that is two in 2002 and five total, my heart just breaks for her. In addition to that she also lost her grandfather and her DH's grandfather in a short period of time and two of her best friends. I wonder how much one couple can take? I suppose right now the bright spot is her two year old son because in my mind he is a miracle, she lost two babies before him so she is very blessed to have him. I wish I could be closer, it is so hard to comfort someone long distance.

At some point in everyone's life there is a season of difficulties, no one really escapes it. But when we have the support of people around us (even long distance), it makes it a little easier to bear. At least she has a sympathetic friend who listens.
