Why do people do this?!

Last night my wife and I went to DL to ride Ghost Galaxy and Haunted mansion...it was our first time at DL during the halloween overlay.
I LOVED both rides...but I have a complaint that I have noticed more and more when we go...but was in OVERDRIVE last night!!!

As Space Mountain "ghost galaxy" was starting the 3 GROWN WOMEN behind us started screaming at the top of their lungs!!! They continued to do so although nothing was happening yet...(and by nothing happening I mean we were just turning the corner from the station) even though I gave them the "turn around and scowl" 2 times...of course this still continued through the entire ride!!! I couldn't hear the soundtrack for the ride and when I left the car my ears were ringing!!! The women who were then in front of us on the way out of the ride were giggling and saying "Did you hear how loud we were! HAHAHAHAHA!!!"

I LOVE DL and Halloween, but people need to be considerate of others!!! It ruined the experience for me! My ears rang ALL NIGHT!!! :headache:

That's super annoying. I guess I will never understand the immaturity of people.

Ugh!! If only people would not take the turn-around-and-scowl look as further encouragement!

I agree.

Happens in the stretching room of HM too, and it drives me crazy.

Oooooooh, yeah. I had this happen in the Library (Twilight Zone part) of Tower of Terror, too.

That's just so immature and pathetic. I hope you got to go on it again.

Happened to us on all 3 of those attractions too. DD (12) could not believe the behavior of the adults!

I really hate it when people do this.:headache: My thought is, for a lot of people who save up all year to travel here, the locals (not all locals are this way) who come here frequently think it's no big deal. well... guess what? IT IS!! I wish people would be more considerate towards others.:sad2: The worst part is, that most of these people are adults!:sad2: I remember when we went on POTC for the first time and some people in the same boat as us were screaming their heads off:mad: and everyone else in the boat was telling them to shut up. I didn't say anything because 7 others where telling them to shut it so I figured I didn't need to say anything.

How annoying! Do the CMs ever say anything when people are behaving that way and ruining everyone else's fun?

When I went this week, the couple behind me on Splash was making obnoxious comments throughout the entire ride and screaming maniacally. If DL served liquor I would have thought for certain they were drunk, and guess I can't rule it out completely!

Ya...not at all uncommon and *SUPER* obnoxious :sad2:

This happened to us on IJ. There were three women in their 20's sitting behind us literally screaming through the entire ride. My friend and I told the CM what had happened when the ride was over and were were allowed to go again right away w/out waiting in line.

I think if it's brought to the attention of the CM working the ride in question they will probably let you get another chance to enjoy the ride w/out standing in line.

It is soooo annoying especially when you can not hear the vocal component of the ride because of others. That is really a lack of social graces.

This happened to us at DLRP. About the most popular ride in the park is Crush's Coaster so the lines are LONG!!!
Well each "shell" is for 4 with 2 back to back (sort of like TSM)
Anyway, so we all wanted to face forward because although it spins on the track, doing the ramp at the start backwards is a little nauseating and you miss seeing Bruce.
So we got a guy and a girl in the rear of our shell in their early 30s I would guess and the girl gave BLOOD CURDLING screams THROUGHOUT the ride. There is a soundtrack to this coaster and I couldn't hear any of it. And it is made worse being back to back because her mouth was right behind my head. We actually turned around and shouted to her to shut up.
I have ridden coasters all over the world (many far scarier) and NEVER heard anyone scream like that.

When we got off we told them off and they were laughing (so obviously not scared).
We complained to the CM and explained this was our last day and finally he let us ride again in our own shell.

I don't understand why people do this.

I seriously think people do it to show off. Look, "Ohhhhh! I know ALL the words to the ToT/HM/fill-in-the-blank preshow so that must mean I'm really cool."

I find it super annoying.

Is it annoying to other people when we go on splash mountain and scream when we go down the big hill where they take the picture? I do not want to be one of *those* people.

I'd feel like a jerk if we'd been ruining the ride for others :guilty:

So, so irritating :sad2:

Especially when it's ADULTS doing it.

Even worse when it's on a ride that isn't even a rollercoaster...like when people scream & make noise the whole way through Pirates (really ruins the effect), and not even just in the stretching room of the Haunted Mansion, but THE. ENTIRE. WAY. THROUGH. There's just no need for an adult to shriek, say, in the Seance Room or during the ballroom scene. Little kids, I can understand, but adults? No.

A large group of girls did this on TOT to my family and they thought they were so cool. Well they had talked about posing for their picture in line...they ended up in the 2nd row behind my husband and family. My entire family put their arms up on the ride (do everytime anyway) but they happened to block the loud obnoxious kids behind them and ruined their picture. It was sweet. I also get extremely annoyed when people do this. I dont get it. Just want to smack them.

I hope not. There is just no way I could keep myself from not screaming. So if this is something that would bother others, then don't come on with me ;)

 GRR that makes me mad! I hate when people do that, I don't understand how they don't think that it effects anyone else. :sad2: Usually if the "turning around with the scowl" doesn't work, I like to do the "turn around scowl with a punch in the face." ;)

That is a very specific moment and totally fine with me.
It is when someone screams the entire way through, and chatter and carry on and ruin the effect. It is not normal to scream during an entire ride. It is something done by choice.

I am largely incapable of screaming no matter how scared I get on a ride (I don't know why) which is I think part of the reason I am a bit sensitive to it. But as I say there are certain moments in a ride where a short scream/yelp is perfectly normal :scared1: which is totally fine.
