The white membership card is a valid membership card..... or is it a scarlet letter
Yeah, right?

The white membership card is a valid membership card..... or is it a scarlet letter
Just browsing this thread makes me scratch my head. Just call up membership services and get a definitive answer.. All of the conjecture, preparation to whine in person, etc. makes no sense. Life is too short to stress of something (Disney) that is supposed to be fun.
See that's what's confusing. I was able to purchase the gold AP. I should not have been able to purchase it if I'm not eligible. I'll have to call tomorrow and see what the eligibility is. If it is an error on the website Disney should really honor my purchase. There is no mention of direct sale on the ticket page. First the gold AP wa not there. Then it said sign in if you're a Disney vacation club member. I signed in and gold AP is there. So isn't discounted platinum pass.

The website isn't the final line of verification for many tickets and passes. Florida resident for one. In CA it's CA or S. Cal tickets and passes. There are several things that people could buy online and Disney knows that so they have the final verification onsite when looking at ID's and membership cards.
So what about the platinum pass? After signing in it is discounted and does not say for Florida residents or dvc members only. BUT when you move on to the next screen it gives you an option for products and prices for all guests or for dvc members.
Why would anyone expect to get a straight and correct answer by calling? I believe that would be a first in Disney history.Just browsing this thread makes me scratch my head. What offer??? Looks like all AP's. Where does it specify Gold?
You could call Disney three times with a yes/no question, and get three different answers.Just call up membership services and get a definitive answer.

And that might affect your choices completely. For those that bought them and it does, they might be able to get it refunded. For those that it doesn't change their choice, they can still try when they go to activate them. This was the ultimate answer I expected though I still bet we see some who get different answers and possibly some who are successful activating them. Taken as a whole, it was clear this was the intent.Confirmed this morning that as a resale purchaser I am not eligible for any discounted pass or gold pass. Spoke to cast member at dvc then spoke to a supervisor. Said I would have been told when I went to activate them and would have had to pay the difference of what I paid and the regular price platinum pass.
