Why do dogs always look so bored?

As I look at my dog laying here - she seems to be saying "I'm so bored". In fact, she always looks like she's bored.

Does your dog make you feel like a first class bore too?

as she laid on the floor and her eyes would wiggle back and forth....and we would think.....is she going to jump up and nibble our noses.....yup she would....I think she could read our minds too........I sure do miss that doggie......she was the best.......

That's what our weim looks like most of the time... just sleeping, hence my sig. She's either sleeping or bouncing off the walls! Personally, I prefer her asleep

mainewmn - I think you took a picture of MY dog! She looks exactly like that - I mean the bored look AND the look in general.

Get a pair of rat terriers, I promise you that you will not have that problem, LOL! They are wild hyper dogs and never a dull moments.

My dogs never look bored. In fact, they usually look like a big blur because they never stop moving long enough to get a good look at them.

That is what he looks likes during the week when we are all running around for school and work. He jumps on our bed and looks very depressed -- oh no they are all leaving again. He refuses to wag his tail. He has his own couch to sleep on and my neighbor comes over every afternoon to walk him and I'm home at 2:30. Don't you feel sorry for him -- boo hoo!

Dachshunds don't look to bored to often. In fact they look like they are always plotting against us.

Our black lab is never bored but wants to play constantly. He is 8 but still acts like a puppy. He plays with a sled in the snow and loves to find balls in the snow too. Inside we play hide&seek with his stuffed toys. I hide them and he has to look for them. When he thinks I have been at the computer too long he will put a ball in my lap to say "come on let's play!" He's my kid!

I can't recall ever seeing my dog look bored.

Actually, this dog looks at me like I'm the sun, moon, and stars. Talk about feeling loved! He is cuckoo about his mama. (The feeling is mutual. )

He's like my shadow, too. He follows me around all day.

DisneyObsessed - that dog looks just like my dog too! Maybe it's a golden retriever thing. They're just so darned happy and smiley when they're playing, that when they're doing nothing, they look like they just lost their best friend.

LOL! Obviously your dog is not an Airedale! They are NEVER bored! They seem to make their own excitement.
