Why did you choose your Avatar? Inquiring minds and all that...

I watch and read the boards on a regular basis. Some people keep the same avatar (like me) and some change with the times and trips and whatever. My Avatar was chosen for a reason and has a sort of "hidden meaning". Here is my Avatar reason...

I went to Disneyland all of one time for one day in 2012 for the sole purpose of seeing the new "Carsland" and riding "Radiator Springs Racers". My Avatar is a pic of that attraction. Despite the fact that my avatar is from California, it remains. Why? Because despite buying an expensive one day hopper ticket on an annual pass block out day....We Never Rode This Ride. It never opened the entire day. Everything else in the Carsland area was wall to wall people. We got a sticker.

Maybe I'll get back to SoCal. For Now, my Avatar is "the ride I never managed to get on" and thanks WDW for never handing me that disappointment.


Avatar and reason for those who have one? Is it a favorite character? A special memory? I do know a lot of you use pics of special memories. So...Avatar description and a reason it is "you" would be lovely. Thanks....I want to know that I am not the only one who made a choice with a reason....

Mine is my precious King Charles Cavelier, GOOPY...hence my name "goopysolelady". My son-in-law gifted me with this little bundle of energy when I was suffering from "empty nest" 13 years ago as our youngest daughter had just gotten married. I asked our 3 year old granddaughter which Disney character we should name him after. We decided on GOOFY but she couldn't say "Goofy"...it kept coming out "GooPy" and it stuck. My sweet puppy passed away last August on my best friends birthday. I still miss him terribly but "talk" to him every morning when I visit Disboards.

Mine is a medal from my half marathon (W&D 2011) and my first full marathon (Disney 20th Anniversary marathon 2013). Plus the shoes I wore during the W&D half. This was for a school project. I liked the way it turned out and felt it was fitting for this community so I have kept it.

I just knew there would be reasons and stories. Can’t wait to read more! Wow, @goopysolelady that was a beautiful story and @Klayfish that reason makes perfect sense. @GADisneyDad14 your avatar is sensible and so is @jeff_h . It is certainly sensible to use a favorite character but I have to admit that an artistic composition ala @regul8ter18 is something I would not have thought of. @starry_solo , is that a character you like or one you designed as an avatar? I ask because my daughter is an animator and I have asked her to “avatar” me in a Disney style. Keep these coming!

This was my DS's first time on Rock 'N' Roller Coaster. He's in the back row with DW. Not pictured...me. I don't ride those things! I loved the wide eyed, wide mouth scream look of the photo. He now declares it his favorite ride.
