Why did it take me so long to start watching The Office?

i was just watching an episode of the office and saw a froggy 101 bumper sticker. my aunt used to do a lot of their advertising. i have froggy 101 t-shirts and bookcovers, bumper stickers (like the one that the guy has on his file cabinet) and keychains. of course, when she gave me them i was really into frogs and didn't realize that they were a country station. haha.

i think it's funny all the real stuff they bring into the show.

I am so ticked right now - had the PVR all set up for both episodes(two of the few I do not already have taped ) - and today, I see our local affiliate decided to put on an hour of Will and Grace instead of "Halloween"!!!! No offence to Will and Grace fans (it is a great show!), but all we have heard for the past two weeks is "Will and Grace" - can't I have my office as planned!?!? :confused3

so not a happy camper!!!!!!! :sad2:

I'm pretty sure the entire network decided not to show Halloween. I was also upset. Sexual Harrasment is a great episode but I've seen it recently enough that I would have rather seen Halloween.

But next week is an Office Marathon! Woot! The Fire, The Client, Performance Review and Email Surveillance!! Can it get any better?

yay Thursday  ...would I be a bad mom if I put my DD to bed just a little early??? Or I'll just PVR it and watch the first two later....but can I wait that long.!?...... :Pinkbounc

:wizard:

i went past the sign that was in that link someone posted. i took a picture. i'll post it as soon as i get it uploaded.

Oh wow, Thursday's marathon was awesome! My family and I had an Office party and my dad even ordered an Awesome Blossom from Chili's for the marathon! The Fire is absolutely one of my favorites! Poor poor Ryan.

According to Jenna(Pam), the season two DVD probably won't come out till September because they are trying to add in a WHOLE BUNCH of extra's. Apparently Jenna took a camera with her to work and filmed some "on the set extras" Yayness!

:rotfl2: too funny
I just started watching about a month ago and I was glad they had all those episodes on thursday night. :happytv:

I haven't seen the U.S. version of this show yet but, watched all the episodes of the U.K. version last year. How is the U.S. version different?? Is it better or not? I LOVED the ones I saw and am looking forward to seeing the other version! :)

Of course! Would have it no other way! :happytv:

I try not to compare the UK and US because they are both REALLY great shows. They are also both pretty different. The US version focuses a lot on EVERYBODY in the Office and you get to know all the office workers pretty well. I think the UK focused more on David, Tim, Dawn and Gareth and had a couple of awesome Keith moments here and there.

this is for my sister iggbees... Yes this was taken in scranton, pa out side of town hall!!

It took the US version a few eps to start hitting its stride, so if you do get a chance to see it, make sure to really give it several eps before you make a decision.

I think the hardest thing to do is to let go of the UK version while you watch the US version. It took me a while to stop calling Michael, Jim, Pam, and Dwight, NotDavid, NotTim, NotDawn, NotGareth. lol. And I could not help but constantly compare David and Michael. But once you let the UK characters go and realize that these are completely new people, it makes a difference in viewing.

Both shows are great in their own way. Hope you get a chance to see the US version and like it.

Before you die ;) let me know when you'll be coming here. I can tell you about accommodations and the coal mine tour and the Steamtown National Historic Site.

If you notice on the top of the Dunder Mifflin sign, there is the Scranton logo, as we are the Electric City. Supposedly, we were the first city in the US to have electric trolleys. That is all displayed at the Steamtown park and you can even ride one of the trolleys or a steam engined train.

Oh make sure you stop by Dickson City Eating distirct, there are more resurants than stores!!!

and stop by my grandma at the hostipal ( i know there are three but i don't know which one) and say hi :wave2:

I'm so happy for this thread because everyone I talk to HATES this show. I mean, they despise it :confused3 . Oddly, it is my 2 sons (10 and 13), having had no actual office experience, who are my fellow fans.

The most common complaint I hear is that it's just too difficult to watch. But THAT's what's funny. Esp. with the British version - you just wanted to die of embarassment for the characters.

My sister's criticism was classic, though - "it's just so far-fetched." :rotfl: :rotfl2: Yea, and Lost is a documentary, I suppose :rotfl:

Yeah, my mom used to hate the show because she couldn't stand the embarassment that is Michael Scott but finally we made her watch a few of the classic episodes and she loves it. My friends don't give it much of a chance because there's no laugh-track, no music, and probably because most of the jokes are subtle and you have to know the characters to get it.

It's an aquired taste. :teeth:

Just a reminder that the Webisodes will be airing THIS Thursday on NBC.com! Also they are showing the Pilot episode and The Secret.

Oh how I've missed thee Office!
