Why can't you meet Tinkerbell in the parks?

I was talking with my family today about the Disney characters & realized there is no Tinkerbell character for kids to meet while in the parks. So I am wondering why she is the only character that you are not able to meet?

When you consider how small Tinkerbell is, compared with the average sized human, chances are that even the best character "handler" wouldn't be able to keep track of her without a microscope. Too much risk of her being accidentally smooshed.

Anyone know if this will change, what with the popularity of the new Disney Fairies and the soon to be released Tinker Bell movie? I wouldn't be surprised to see Rani and Prilla wandering around one day too....

Tinkerbell is WAY too busy spreading pixie dust to be at meet and greets silly! :goodvibes

Personally, I hope they never "supersize" Tink! I like to think of her flitting around the parks spreading magic.......besides there was a big Tink in the Disneyland Christmas parade and sorry, but she just wasn't all that Tink-ish....the REALLY bad wig didn't help, but big Tink? Ummmmm, not so much....:sad2:

Actually... I met her the past two trips I took to Walt Disney World. I found her along with Peter Pan near the Jungle Cruise both times. Of course she was average size.

I remember a rumor that Disney was thinking of making a special meeting area for Tink. You would enter a special "pixie dust" area that makes you as small as Tink then you would proceed into her greeting area and meet Tink. I would hope you would also then be "enlarged" before going back into the park. There are an aweful lot of people walking around to remain three inches tall.

Tinkerbelle is not a meetable character, at least not yet! I always thought it was a logistics thing. Tinkerbelle would be a natural "face" character, as she is a human-fairy type of lifeform in Peter Pan. But in her movie, she doesn't speak, as she appears to be mute. So if she was meeting people at Disney, could she speak? It would be weird meeting a face character who just nods and gestures, but I bet Disney could make it work! If she wasn't a face character and Disney decides to make her a fully costumed "fur" character, she would probably look something like Lilo, and that might look too odd!

Well, I think that's why Tinkerbelle hasn't been out meeting .. yet! Maybe she will get out there someday, there have been rumors! :)

I met the Tink that will be in the Princess and Pirates parade at the Dole Whip stand during MVMCP! She was cute and petite...and almost talked us into going to the P&P Party. pirate:

I assume you are talking about Wendy Darling, who is a human girl in a blue dress? She meets often with Peter Pan in Adventureland. Tinkerbelle is the blond fairy who has wings and a green dress. Tink has never been out, sadly!! It would have been all over the boards if she were, and us character hunters would have been jumping for joy!! :)

I am sure I seen her ;) Perhaps it was just my Disney imagination. :lmao: Well, I did see her in the Sky at night - for sure....

well when we went this past sept 2006 the cast members told me that tinker bell does not meet with people, because the person that is her character is actually a boy. i know i will hear alot about this one. but i promise that is what i was told. because i wondered the same thing. tink is my favorite. we were at the mnsshp when i was told and i was shocked. also the guy who does jonny dept pirates he does not sign autographs or take individual pictures with the kids.pirate:

We would also like to see TINK and many rumores have been around that that will happen soon.

But nothing yet.

They could put her in a Rubber head like Capt.Hook and that would take the talking part away as well. There is a bobble head that looks if it could happen.

I have seen her is the DL parade and it also looked real good.

In the Movie coming out they are going to have her talking and in some other versions of Peter Pan she talks.

Last is that Chip & Dale are not really 6 ft tall either but are 2 of the most popular characters in the parks.

Now that's a TERRIFIC/MAGICAL idea!! I hope this rumor comes true ... but imagine the line!!??!!:cloud9:

I don't know . . . . keeping them small could really help alleviate the crowds.

Gosh, I hope they don't make a meetable Tink! I love her because she's IMAGINARY.... that's her magic, IMHO!

Tinkerbell is a character in the parade at DL, but I've never seen her out for meeting. In the parade, she is a human-sized character.
