Completely NOT political and on to the ever so more important topic of baseball. I have to say I was so impressed with the World Series. Not with the outcome- which of course was sad for me but that aside, I think this Series was played by two very CLASSY teams. Both teams were the best sportsmans, something kind of rare in pro sports today.

I know we're not going to agree on everything - and that is fine as I definitely would find it very dull if all the posts were of the "I agree" and "What you said" variety. I really didn't intend to make this a political thread but today it seems like so many things come back to politics, at least for me. I have seen posts from people I had thought generally above the pettiness say things like all Democrats are cowards, we need to "get a grip", and that we're whiners - the last two on the Kerry Supporter thread where we had tried to stay away from the debates. Unfortunately, some could not resist posting to say "ninny ninny ninny" or worse. There were, of course, posts by Bush supporters offering consolation, good will, etc. but unfortunately it becomes so hard to see only the good when there are so many who are obviously enjoying our sense of loss.

ETA - I hope in a week or so I'll be able to join in the "Laughing Place" again.

Let's all make a pact that we will not post on political threads for at least 2 weeks! Find another forum for your policital fix. That way, tempers will cool down and we can all be Dis Friends again.

I didn't post but a couple of times on the political threads and I started portraying a side of myself that I didn't want to share here. I have strong believes and can sometimes see things as black or white. I don't want it to be that way here.

I tip my hat to all those who stand up and shout "I disagree!" It is easy for someone like me who supports the current administration, but it takes a great american to shout disapproval. It is what our founding fathers would have wanted.

Oh, believe me I have been avoiding posting to the political threads - except the Kerry thread - for at least a week. To me, the Kerry thread wasn't really political as we weren't there to debate but rather discuss something we had in common. Unfortunately, not all the threads were easy to avoid opening if they were not clearly labeled. Also, I want to stay open-minded so looked at some to see what others were saying and regretted it later when I saw the insults and anger in them. That's changed now, though, so we've gone elsewhere to talk among like-minded people without fear of insults and attacks.

I go to WDW in April. I have not been since 2001, so I will have to take everyones word until then

I have really enjoyed all the political threads on this board. It has become my daily obsession. Now that Bush has won I just feel relieved. I hope life gets better for everyone. The economy and security are two big issues for me. I know Bush will take us in the right direction. That said, I have no interest in arguing over politics at this point. I feel bad for Kerry. It has to be very depressing to have it all come to an end. Very sad. But I know with all the votes Bush received alot of people must feel he is doing a good job. My next main focus is getting through the holidays and my trip to Disney in April! Thanks to everyone. I have learned alot about Politics from this board. Thats for you Kendra17 and from the other side LisaZoe! Very informed people. The biggest thing I learned about myself is my spelling and grammer stink! 12yrs. of private school and this is the best I could do?

My favorite fireworks show is Illuminations. The song melts my heart. All that talk about moving forward - no matter what is ahead of us - together, and making it better. That is really special.

I also loved the Christmas EPCOT show before Illuminations, they had a laser dancing the Nutcracker Suite and some other great effects. Of course I'm probably biased because that was the show we watched on our wedding night.

I really, really wish all the political stuff had a board of it's own, so I could just come to the CB and relax. Someone even ambushed a soap opera thread today. Like I wasn't depresed enough already!
