Why can't SW allow bookings months out?

We know were going to WDW next year and have already booked our vacation. Does anyone know if Southwest will allow for booking of flights 9-12 months out like other airlines in our area? We fly out of PVD and we love flying on it but I don't understand why we can't book out flight further out like other airlines do. Does anyone know if this us going to change anytime soon?

People booking other airlines constantly complain about schedule changes. SW avoids that by only booking closer to the date. Rarely do they have a schedule change. They have been moving out a little farther than they used to. On Dec 16 they will open up to 8/13, which is about 8 months.
