I guess what I'm trying to say and get across is that I just don't feel it's right to have different limits at the resorts.
If you stay at ASM, put a credit card 'on your account', then go over to DTD, walk into the Art of Disney store and buy a $24,000.00 painting this is what will happen:
Store's PC will read your key-card, "call up" your hotel, Hotel PC will say "ok" -- then instantly it will call up your credit card company, if they say "ok" - you're out the door with your painting -- did you exceed a "limit"?
ONLY in the sense that your hotel's pc is programmed (with your permission) to present a charge to your credit card company once your account balance has reached (in the case of a value) $ 500.
This is not discrimination. It harms no one. It's designed to make the business workings go easier for everyone. If you elected express checkout when you checked in, the ONLY time you would have to go to the front desk is if Visa/Amex/Mastercard (or whoever) declined the charge.
I am more likely to spend more on souvies and what not now seeing I'm not breaking the bank w/ my hotel.
Your not 'breaking' any 'banks', unless your credit card company has a problem with your account.
I also planned on charging our MNSSHP tickets to our room upon arrival and upgrading our tickets. So that's 1/2 our limit right there. then a quick stop in the gift shop for a Pal Mickey for the little one and we only have $200 left.
Again, it's not a limit. The ONLY limit set, is the one by your credit card company. If that acount (visa etc) is in good standing, and your charges will not put you over your credit card account limit -- then there's NO problem or hassel.
I disagree with the differences ... I believe you should be able to decide how much you want preauthorized. If I'm staying at a value resort, I charge waaayyyy more to my room than if I'm staying deluxe 'cause the money I saved on the hotel goes for more "fun stuff" !!!
I am staying in a deluxe and prefer no room charges keeping in mind all my expenses will be paid prior to check in...I have my empty milk jug, filling it with dollars, nickels and pennies...and that is what we will spend over the room, tickets, and
I even painted the circle indented part of the jug and put mouse ears on it!! Now everytime the kids do a chore or find money somewhere I throw or they throw some coin in!!! I am excited to see my end product, so far we have 140 in bills, haven't counted change yet. I started this about a month ago and have since moved my Dec trip to Sept YIKES!!!!
I hope I can keep this up
