Oh Em, I do feel for you

TBH, if I were you I wouldn't talk to your Brother ever again about presents for them, I would get them something nice within your budget, write the tag out "from your niece Kyra" and then they can't take it out on you and get the hump! Invite your Mum and Dad to Christmas day at yours next year - minus them!
Every family has one though, we have had major present issues with DH's bro/wife and their two boys. This couple do not work, are on every benefit going whilst he pretends he's doing the black taxi knowledge when he should be "job seeking" but because their kids friends have a Wii and a DS they asked ALL the family that buy the kids presents to "chip in" so they could have a Wii. We had already bought their christmas presents so said no, now I know for a fact that after all the grandparents and their other aunts/uncles have chipped in they will be in profit for that Wii, their Grandparents won't see them open any presents and do you really think they will put everybodys name on that tag?

when I asked them what games they're bought they said Resident Evil and some War game

I asked if they bought Mario Kart as it was the girls fave and they said no they'll have the sports to play

The eldest boy has a birthday before christmas and DH parents have given them £50 towards a DS too, they asked me to do a multi games cartridge for them, these cartridges cost me about £40, which I explained to her at the time, she phoned me and asked me if I was giving it to him for his birthday

I stood by my guns and explained that I don't usually spend £40 on the boy for his birthday.
Some people have got so much cheek
