Why am I just now thinking about this?

I'm leaving for WDW on Sunday. As I was checking around, looking at packing lists to make sure that I had everything, I saw pins listed. I thought "Oh yeah, I should bring my pins." Then I realized that I don't know how to get my pins there. :confused3 You can't bring pins in carryon, right? But I don't trust the airlines to actually deliver my checked baggage (too many bad experiences, one where we lost all of our Disneyland souvenirs). I know this is a stupid question, but what do you all do to bring your pins back to the world? Thanks in advance for helping out a panicking person.

You Could sent them express mail to yourself in care the hotel. If you had them to the post office by 2:30 Saturday you should have them on Monday, or Tuesday by 10:30 am at the latest. The other upside is that you could insure them for their true worth. Whatever method you choose I hope you have a great trip! : :bounc

How many pins do you have? I know on the way home from WDW this past Nov. I bought about 10 pins and brought them with me in my carry-on cause in case anything happend to my luggage, I didn't want to lose them. No one gave me any grief, got through security just fine. :thumbsup2

You can carry them on. My DS was a Pin trader & after 9/11 I was worried about him flying with them. I talked to other pin traders who carry theirs. He bought his whole pintrader backpack, no problem. In fact, the security guard at MCO was well versed in pins. He carried them up until he lost interest in 2004.

Hubby had 6 pins on his tigger hat in '02 5 months post 9/11 and they let him walk on with it on his head then.

Geez I'll have to follow this thread, I never thought to ask that question and we'll be flying in August.

They've never given me a problem. On this latest trip, I even had two attached to my fanny pack, no worries.

Last May I had 60 to 80 pins on lanyards and on a vest in my carryon bag. I had absolutely no problems with security, they did not even ask me to open the bag after it went thru x-ray.

You know, I never even thought of this before. But my DD was wearing her lanyard when we flew back last June. Of course she had to take it off to go through the scanner, but they never said anything about it.

Thank you all so much. I don't ever carry my backpack because it's fully decked out in pins and I didn't want to be a security problem, but I'm glad to hear that all of you have gotten through security without issue. I was just so worried that I would cause a problem. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks again everyone! :Pinkbounc I leave tomorrow! :woohoo:
