Every year my husband and I go to WDW the end of November/beginning of December. :woohoo: Why am I having problems getting a room @ Wilderness Lodge? The reservation system tells me that nothing is available and suggests the Saratoga Springs resort. We have been there during this time period for the last 4 years and I have NEVER had a problem. I guess the discounts/promotions are responsible for the lack of rooms.

Has anyone stayed at the Saratoga Springs resort?? If so, what did you think?

Do you think the Parks are going to be really busy too? :confused3

Have you always waited this late and were still able to get that time frame at Wilderness Lodge, if so I am really surprised. WL is probably the most booked resort during that time frame.

Have you tried calling instead of online, sometimes they have rooms that do not seem to be in the online system.

As to Saratoga Springs, love it.

Parks being crowded, we went that time last year and it was packed especially Magic Kingdom.

Last year I booked in October... no problems...

I did talk to someone... they explained there was a limited number of rooms available for each promotion. But when checked... they also didn't have rooms without a promotion.

We may consider Saratoga Springs. We don't usually go to DTD (except for Earl of Sanwich... yum!). Maybe it is time for us to get crazy  and try something new! :cool1:

Thanks for your help! :goodvibes

While SSR is not located at a theme park it is very convenient to all parks. We like it very much.

The end of the first week of Dec begins Pop Warner (takes up lots of resort room space, does not affect park crowds hardly at all). Between free dining and everything else being offered I am shocked you could get rooms as late as October in the past.

At this point you take what you can get and try to change it later or else you stay offsite.

Normally, when this happens, it's a result of a room at your requested resort not being available for a specific night in your stay. For example - if you're trying to get Wed - Tues, and Sun is booked solid, it will say there's nothing available. Try investigating a split stay.

I never thought about a spilt stay... duh! GREAT IDEA :thumbsup2

We enjoyed Saratoga Springs and would definitely consider staying there again.

I tried to book WL for this same time frame (Monday, November 29th - Saturday December 4th) with a 40% off pin but was told there was no availability. I tried to book it back in July... :confused3

Yep! Back in July... I tried using my 40% off pin too! I was even willing to do the Club Level. During that time... the gal even tried the Beach/Yacht/Boardwalk area and there was nothing available. Hum... they must've only had one room per resort with that pin... ;)

We loved our stay at Saratoga last May. Our room was great, the kids loved the pool, the resort is pretty with an easy boat ride to Downtown Disney. The only issue for me was the buses. Long waits, overcrowded, etc. If we stayed at Saratoga again, I would definitely rent a car.

Thanks everybody for your advice and suggestions!! :)

We have decided to change the week that we are going and will be there the first week of December... instead of our usual week after Thanksgiving. We will be taking advantage of the 40% off room rate @ the Deluxe resorts and splitting our stay... per DavidandLeahZ suggestion! :thumbsup2 Thanks!

Looking forward to seeing the Christmas decorations... again! :cool1:

Glad I could help.

Could I plug Dreams Unlimited Travel?

I had trouble 11 months out booking SSR with DVC. then in the next window to switch resorts. I booked last year in August with no issues and got AKV.

We were able to get our second choice AKL in July but I was a little bummed that WL was not available. I have always wanted to stay there. But I'm still WAY EXCITED!!
