Simba's Mom, I'm not sure how flexible the new company is that you could be working for. But you could ask right after you get hired to see if they will let you have the time off without pay. I did that the first year I was at the company I am with now and had no problems at all. As a matter of fact, I talked to them about having the time off before I accepted the position. They were really good about it even though I was taking 2 weeks off just 2 months after I started. Good Luck! I hope all works out well for you.
