Who's in for May 2013 code watch?

I am in! Just decided we are going a week ago, it's been over 5 years, so my whole family is excited!
We are planning around around May 9. I noticed people keep mentioning free dining, has that ever happened around the first part of May?

So many questions, sorry, but it is 2 am and I can't sleep! haha!:flower3: :artist:

Joining this thread!! We are going on our first Disney Cruise May 16-19. :cool1:We are going to plan 4 or 5 days for Disny World before or after our cruise. We will have 3 adults and 3 children. My family and mother-in-law. Do you think we will come out cheaper renting from DVC or booking packages from Disney?
:hyper:

Booked our May, 2013 trip this morning! It was several hundred more than previous vacations so I am hoping for some sort of discount. If not, then I guess I'll live with it.

Yay for May!! :p

We are going for 11 nights and I booked the last 4 thru DVC staying a standard view room at BLT. I was thinking I would book the first 7 at a moderate and hoped to get a FD or a good code and save some good money. But then, ;) I decided since this trip we are getting married, Disneymooning and celebrating DD 2nd bday, we need to do it Deluxe, (plus I like the idea of being so close to MK with young DD)! So I switched to CR Garden View for the first 7.......which is costing us almost $1,000 more than if I had booked those nights thru DVC. :scared: The only way I'm gonna save is if I get FD (which from past yrs I doubt) or at least 30% off lol. This is all my fault though for switching around so much. So I'm in the queue with David's DVC to get a theme park view at BLT those first 7 nights! Fingers crossed someone with more points joins!
So I think it all depends on what resort you want to stay at. If its a value, I say definitely a package, if it's a moderate, I would think it would depend on codes and deluxe I would say go with DVC points!
Ahhhh, so much planning and number crunching!
(sorry for the long winded post I think I wanted to get my frustrations out)
:rotfl:

Hi! We are going May 9th - 16th then a couple days at Sea World and Aquatica and then on to a 7 day Disney cruise!

I have had free dining in May 2009, however that is when the economy was tanking in 2008 and when swine flu was going around and people were afraid to travel! So I don't know if we will see free dining this time around?

We are renting a 4 bdrm, 4 bath house with pool and spa for only $1300 for the 5 of us! With the house, tickets, and paying OOP for food, we will be saving close to $2500 for the same vacation! :goodvibes

The only way I will consider switching to a package on property is if they release free dining (not likely) or I get a PIN code for free dining? We have heard a lot of pretty good things about staying off site and have decided to give it a try? pixiedust:

May 22nd to June 1st. Our son starts high school this year and I booked assuming that it wouldn't matter if he missed the last two days. They usually aren't doing anything that last week anyway.

Our son will be a high school senior and he will be missing from the 9th to the 25th (12 days of school) but he took double classes as a sophmore and junior, so his senior yr he only has english and history and has early dismissal all yr long! His principle supports family time and is not concerned about him missing class! Not to mention that by that time he will mostly be done with his classes! :crazy2:

That's great! If our kids miss more than 10 days in a semester, the parents have to go before the School Board and explain to them the reason the child missed. Criminal charges can be brought against the parents.

I'm thinking that missing the last couple days wont be an issue. In the past, our son has been on honor roll so he's been exempt from final exams.

Yikes! I wouldn't like that school district, my 5 yr old was sick alot last yr and missed a lot of school, I guess I would be in trouble! :confused3

That seems a little extreme :scared: I guess there are parents out there though that do need to stay more focused on what's best for their children and the school must figure this is one way!

If the absences are excused, then the parents are in the clear. They are pretty strict around here but at least we don't have a bunch of kids skipping school and getting away with it.

We're in! Sailing on our first cruise on the Dream next May then spending a few days in the World after.

At my kids school, if they have 10 days of unexcused school I would have to reregister them and repay the fees to get them back into school. Since they both have medical conditions they end up missing school at least a couple of days for doctor's appointments (there Dr is about an hour away). Last year we had a problem because my son had missed 8 days of school and they were warning about this. I had to make sure that the doc wrote a note so we could get all those listed as excused. It was a bit of a pain in the butt.

My kids will end up missing the last two days of school (the last day is only about an hour and a half). I did this last year and didn't have any problem with it.

I have officially booked our 2013 vacation. We will be staying at POFQ from May 26th-June 1st.:cool1::cool1:

If there is some kind of amazing code for May 2013 we will change our current dates of early September to May! Would love to take some days off of our looooong countdown till trip 2013.

Just booked CBR for the week of May 19th! This will be our first time going in May. We are usually September travellers. Hoping for a discount like everyone else. If one comes out, though, then I have a new problem to consider...make our current trip cheaper or pay the same amount and stay longer?

Hey all! I had a question or two that I am sure some of you can answer.

We are CBR lovers all the way but I'm pondering the thought of staying at one of the other moderates in May, 2013 (already booked at CBR but may change). In the past, we've always been able to take advantage of the special offers for our May travel dates and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be something we can use again.

Am I remembering correctly that the previous % off offers were lower at Port Orleans French Quarter than they were at the other moderates? I was thinking the May, 2012 POFQ offer was just 10% or 15% when the other moderates were 20%.

Oh and for you CSR experts, I know that breakfast and lunch are now buffet at the Pepper Market. Can you still get items to go?

Anyone else plan on booking tomorrow? I usually wait until a deal comes out, but I am so excited for this trip that we are booking tomorrow! :surfweb:

Usually we would wait for a deal to confirm our trip, but it's our Disneymoon, so we're going, discount or not! (Not that I want Disney to know that...)

I don't remember the %s but I know the POFQ was less than the others. IIRC it had recently had some refurbished/upgraded rooms; presumably Disney figured it was already going to be fully booked from that and didn't need to offer as big an incentive to people to stay there.

At CSR I believe you get the to-go items next door to Pepper Market; they slightly expanded he selection Cafe Rix. Not that much, though. Pepper Market is buffet only at breakfast & lunch.

We are also on code watch for early May! We are thinking of booking May 5th-10th. COME ON CODE!!!!

Last time we were in the World was in October for our wedding...really looking forward to comming back.
