Who's in for GREECE and TURKEY, June 15 2003????

Just saw this on dcl's site:

Please be aware that on June 17, 2013 (Disney Magic 12 Night Greek Isles Cruise), saint patron of Pisa is celebrated. Religious sites such as the Cathedral and Baptistery may be closed for temporary events. The Piazza and the Leaning Tower of Pisa will be available.

Hmmmm.....

When I spoke with Rome in Limo they told me most of the museums in Florence are closed that day.

The museums in Florence are closed that day because it's Monday and I believe they are always closed on Monday.

:cheer2:I just checked my reservation 176 days until we sail:cheer2:!! Since concier/platimum can book shore excursions in 56 days I would hope that the excursions for Turkey and Greece will be up on the site soon!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of our shipmates from the Colonial Capital of Virginia. Sue

Buon Natale .. Just practicing.... Merry Christmas and have shappy New Year!

We bought a handheld luggage scale for Gary for Christmas so we can check the weight of our luggage for the cruise. We have so e friends who sailed Alaska with us that had one and it was pretty close to what the airline weighed our bags in at. Got it at Kohls for $12!

we have one of those and we love it. It's very accurate.

Our Christmas tree is so barren of gifts this year because we are putting so much towards this trip. I am thinking of getting Santa hats to wear onboard and celebrating Christmas in June. What about the rest of you? Feel the same way?? The few things we did get are for the trip :)

Merry Christmas everyone. Just got home from our cruise on the Disney Magic. Was hoping the world would end on the 21st and we would be stuck at sea forever, but no such luck.

Now to get working on this cruise. We will start planning our excursions. We are watching the Disney Christmas Parade on tv right now!

Happy holidays everyone.

Sounds good to me! DSIS has organized a 3 day on the Magic next 12/27/13 & convinced us we should go because everyone on the trip love DCL due to us! Don't really like 3 day cruises nor 4 but we are going and with it the rest of our Christmas funds!

We booked our tour with Rome in Limo this morning. We've requested that we return by 4:30 PM to the port even though we are scheduled to depart at 6:30 PM so that we'll have a buffer. These are the specific sites we've included as places we would like to see during our tour if time permits.

The Forum
Circus Maximus
Spanish Steps
Palatine Hill
Mamertine Prison
Capitoline Hill
Victor Emmanuel monument to be able to go to the top for the view of the city.

I also booked our pre-flight hotel in ATL, so that's one more thing off my list!

We used them a couple of years ago and will be using them again. You are going to love them.

We have not booked out flights yet. I know. I been procrastinating. I just realized this morning that its six months away!

I hope things are well with everyone on this disboards. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!:woohoo:

Happy Holidays everyone! Guess I need to start thinking about FE gifts...very exciting! Trying to decide on excursion in Rome. We did the train/basic tour (Colosseum, St. Peter's, lunch, Trevi fountain, etc) on the DCL cruise in 2007 so we want to do something different this time. Has anyone done an excursion where you have to opportunity to see the Sistine Chapel? Other suggestions?

We chose to hire Rome in Limo and it cost $200 for a private tour of the Sistine Chapel & the Colosseum. It was a total of a 4 hour tour for 6 of us.

Then, we took a bus to get to the Trevi fountain. We had lunch 4 blocks from the colosseum and it cost $60 Euros for all 6.
