Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Good Morning everyone!

I'm ALIVE!:lmao: I think I'll live... I'm about 90% better so I'm conserving my energy and DISing all day.:lmao:

Shelly--- what a great Epcot resort area dining post! I love that pic of the boys with that funnel cake -- so funny!!!!:rotfl2:
Kouzzina looks interesting...... not really a place I think I'd enjoy.

All those treats are making me hungry. And it really doesn't help matters when I called Mark at work yesterday and told him to bring me home a Birthday cake. :confused3 So now I have it sitting in the fridge.

That pizza looked good too.

As far as BRG..... we'll always have BRG.

I am not a fan of seafood either Shelly. People are usually horrified when they hear that. ;) Do the little jukeboxes on the tables at Beaches & Cream really work? What a blast from the past! :)

1 MONTH from today I will be at Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3:

:woohoo: Hard to believe your vacation is so close!

Enjoyed the Epcot area dining reviews. Since we changed resorts DH and I will not be dining around there either this trip unless we take a chance and head over to Big River if we do a second DHS day to get DH his Kobe burger if it is still on the menu.

Jo - glad to hear you no longer feel as  and will soon be :yay:

WOW - one month!!! That means you'll be celebrating my birthday at WDW!!! Have a dole whip for me please!

I'm thinking BRG should go on my list! If you both like it, it must be good!

Jo - hope you're feeling better!

We tried that bell trick with our dog. Didn't work so well, but now he's pretty well trained to let us know by pestering us and jumping up to get our attention. He definitely understands the words "out" and "potty"!

Special one night only concert for
Shelly's
ONE
MONTH!

:rockband:

:dance3: :cool1: :dance3: :cool1:

Look at 'em go!

I can't believe our time is almost up... we've been planning for so long.
:faint:

Woohoo -- thanks for the party!!! :cool1:

I can't believe it's almost here either! We've been planning since there were feet on snow on the ground!! :upsidedow

Yeah, I don't think I would recommend Kouzzina. But then maybe that means you would like it.

That picture of the Flank Steak makes me gag a little.:eek:

Yes, we'll always have BRG. ::yes::

I am not a fan of seafood either Shelly. People are usually horrified when they hear that. ;) Do the little jukeboxes on the tables at Beaches & Cream really work? What a blast from the past! :)

I know. I always feel like I'm the only person in the world who doesn't eat seafood! :rotfl:

I don't think those little jukeboxes on the tables worked. But there is a big one that does!

I know, it's coming quick! :goodvibes

That's what I am thinking. We ate there and spent so much time there on the last trip, so I didn't make any ADR's. But you never know when you might get hungry for BRG! I love that they don't take ADR's!!

Oh yeah, I forgot I would be celebrating your birthday in Disney!!! :cool1::rotfl:

Yep -- BRG is very good! ::yes::

When Jack rings the bell and doesn't need to pee the kids always say -- he's scammin us!! :lmao:

We went to Cape May for dinner last year and loved it!

9eb03ced.jpg

This is what I have been looking for! I have searched all over the DIS to see if CM has crab legs and could not find the answer to save my life! Thank you!!! :worship: We are going here in October for this ONE reason! :rotfl: I'm so glad to hear that you liked it for dinner. I'm excited about going there and seeing the BC!

I love the Mickey head ice cream from B&C! So cute!

You guys did get your snacks in when you stayed at the BWI didn't you? :lmao: How could you not with that bakery right there though! YUM!

Can't believe you're not eating at BRG this time as much as you guys like it. We have never eaten there, but it's on the 'one day' list.

Glad to help!! :goodvibes I'm sure you'll enjoy dinner at Cape May!

Yep -- we sure enjoyed our evening snacks at the BW! :faint:

Hey!

I've been car rental researching all day. I made reservations way the heck back in February for a car for our trip and at that time the best I could find was thru Dollar rental car for a Full size (Dodge Charger) at $295 for 5 days.

Today I was able to find a a Full size thru Alamo - which would be a Chevy Imapla-- for $230.

BUT...
I found a Premium - a Buick Regal-- for $265-- still less than my original.

So now I have three reservations out there.

:upsidedow

Who knows what we'll end up with. :rotfl:

I saw this over on the Community Board and had to share it with y'all. It made me laugh, and since the topic has been dining, I thought y'all would find it funny, too.

Is it creepy...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...that I walked behind a woman at Marshall's tonight, even though she wasn't going where I needed to go, simply because she was on her cell talking about which ADRs she scheduled for her trip?

I hope I didn't break any Dis rules by copying and posting that. :scared1: BTW, most of the responses were asking if they had good ones.

I would probably go with the buick myself. Speaking about rental cars, do they still do the "official rental car of WDW".

One year when we rented a car it was the Chevy Lumina the official rental car of WDW. I don't seem to recall seeing them advertise official cars anymore.

I'm not a seafood person either, but DH LOVES it! I probably should take him to Cape May at some point. Maybe if I tell him that if we stay in the Epcot area resorts he could have seafood, he would be more receptive of spending the extra money. :rotfl:

All we've done in that area is ice cream at Beaches & Cream.

Shelly, I am not a big seafood fan either...I do not like lobster, crab, none of that...and being so close to Lousiana, that's a lot of what is eaten around here...not for me...I will just get a salad if that's the only option!
Teri...that is hysterical!!!
Jo,..glad you are better...and y'all are getting soooo close!!!!! it'll be here before you know it!!!

Hello! :goodvibes

Wow slow day in here. I guess that's what happens when Jodi and I go shopping. :rotfl: Lucky her, she's still out shopping. I, on the other hand, am limited with my time because of this dog!! :scared1:

So anyway -- I hit the back to school shopping pretty hard this week. I think we are just about all set. Just need to get them each some socks and that's it! I wanted to get done early this summer because of the trip coming up.

There you go -- tell him you'll take him to an awesome seafood buffet if you stay at an Epcot resort!! :thumbsup2

Look at my first ticker -- it's in weeks & days, not months!!! :woohoo:

Okay, so now the rest of the deluxe resorts dining.....

Animal Kingdom Lodge:

Last November we headed over to the AKL to check it out since we had never been there before. We decided to have lunch at their CS restaurant – Mara. It was okay, but we wouldn't make the trip over there for it again.

Old Key West:

In November 2009 we stayed at OKW for 2 nights. We didn't have plans to eat at Olivia's and didn't have an ADR prior to leaving, but we found ourselves with extra TS dining credits and were able to get an ADR at Olivia's the same day! We weren't expecting much, we were pleasantly surprised! We all enjoyed our meals very much and it was one of the best meals of the trip! :goodvibes

Good's To Go is a little food stand at OKW and has CS and snack choices. Not a lot to choose from, but at least there is something! We got cold sandwiches from there one night. They were decent.

Okay, I think that's it for the rest of the Deluxe Dining. This time we have an ADR at the Turf Club at SSR, but I'm not 100% sure we are going to keep it....

Well Hey there! I am finally back from shopping and let me tell you it was a big pain in the You-know-where.

Why is it that all three kids all seem to scatter as soon as you hit the doorway of a store? They all want to go to their section FIRRRRRRSSST!!!:headache:

We did okay except for Drew and MC being in an all out war the whole time. Him not speaking to her, her trying to find out what she did to upset him. The Entire day.:headache:

And then there was the matter of losing Drew in the humongoid sports store---- and I looked for 10 minutes for him with my heart in my throat just knowing that he had been kidnapped. Luckily MC found him in the FLIP FLOP section of all places--- before I had the whole store closed down and his name announced over the loudspeaker for everyone to hear.
I was NOT happy.
(But he did get new Nike's out of the whole fiasco so he really didn't care about being lost.)

By the time we hit up Wal Mart I was ready for the world to blow.:lmao:

So--- what we got---
~Mister Fans! We got one water one with batteries that we will take turns lugging around. The others are just fans. I didn't think we all wanted to have to carry the water ones with them being as heavy as they are. I may change my mind once we get there.
~new tennis shoes for Belle and Drew
~Flip flops for Belle that she SWEARS will be comfy in WDW.
~These Chilly wrap things that look like bandanas. I wasn't gonna get them but the kids insisted that we get them and they chose the ugliest ones for themselves--- Proudly, even, giggling the whole time.:goodvibes You dunk them into ice water and they absorb it and stay cold for a long time.
Not pretty to look at but ya know, in 100+ degree weather, who the heck cares?

And that's it. For now.

Shelly------ Yay for weeks not months!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1: And for finishing up school shopping!:goodvibes You are so organized. I still have so much to do--- and they start soon. ugh.

Your Deluxe dining posts are so good. I remember your Olivia's experience- I thought it looked excellent there! ::yes::
It's probably a good thing you didn't care for Mara at AKL--- otherwise you'd be making the trek over there every year.:upsidedow

Thanks for another great post!:goodvibes

Shelly - that is quite an impressive ticker ya got there :woohoo: for 4 weeks and 2 days.

What a relief once the bulk of the school shopping is done, I actually use to enjoy it until my DS reached their teens then it became so expensive.

I have not been to Mara in years, but I did have the best roast beef sandwich out of a cold case there. Went there my second morning at AKL and I guess I hit it at a bad time , it was crowded and noisey so I left again.

I agree with you about Olivias at OKW we had breakfast and lunch there and both meals were excellent and the onion rings I had a Goods were very good, so good I had a second order later in our trip from there.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jo - Are you sure it was Drew that go lost and not You? :rotfl: My eldest DS got lost when he was about 4 maybe and told the sales clerk I had got lost. I had just realised he was no where to be found when they announced over the loud speaker for the lost mommy to come to (I forget where now) :rotfl:

I like your plan with the misters, now besides fighting over who will carry the heavy water model you can all fight over who will use it and who will refil it too.

I think those neck wrap thingys sound like a good idea to keep cool.

Smart to get the Nike now before you can not get the size in the style Drew wants. Shoes are a pretty big deal for boys returning back to school.

Lucky for my Mom...most of her kids hate shopping. I was the only one who volunteered to go with her after we got to a certain age. On the other hand, dragging the rest of the kids to the store when we were younger was never fun.

We stayed at AKL, so we've eaten at Mara several times. It's definitely not the best counter service place ever.
We've also done Jikos, and I wasn't too terribly impressed with that either.
We ended up canceling an ADR for Boma, because we were going to have to pay OOP, and we had extra CS credits leftover.
I'm really glad they opened Sanaa over there, and it's open for lunch. If we ever stay there again, it will give us more options for midday meals.

Good morning! :)

Happy 5 WEEKS Jodi!!!!!!!!!!!!
:banana::banana::banana:
:banana::banana:

Wow you had quite the day shopping yesterday. :scared1: Glad Drew was found and all was well. Too bad about the fighting all day. I hate when my kids have days like that. :headache:

Sounds like you're doing well on your back to school shopping. When do they start? I started the shopping early this summer. I usually don't even start until August since we don't start school until after Labor Day. But with the trip coming up I didn't want to have to worry about school clothes shopping right before it.

Yep -- Olivia's was a nice surprise. I'm hoping we will feel the same way about Shutters. :wizard:

Thanks Sheila! :cool1:

I used to really enjoy back to school shopping, but now DS12 is so picky. It's annoying. :headache: DS9 is still easy though -- he'd probably go to school in his underwear if he was allowed. :rotfl:

Mara was loud & crowded when we were there too. It was just a weird set up too. :confused3

I didn't know you had been to Olivia's too. I don't come across too many people who have been there!

No, Mara wasn't a great counter service meal. It was decent, but definitely not the best. We've never been to Jiko or Boma. I kind of doubt we ever will. Unless we stay at AKL someday.

DS starts school on the 9th of August! :scared1: WAY TOO EARLY! We get out right before Memorial Day (like that Thursday/Friday). It's crazy. I would much prefer after Labor Day! It seems like school has just ended and now he's going back. All his supplies are bought...just need to get him some new tennis shoes. Got him quite a few pair of jeans at the beginning of summer from the clearance racks - love those sections of Kohls!! :thumbsup2

Can't believe how close your trips are getting! They'll be here before you know it!!!
