Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Well, I am sure that your hair looks fabulous, but I can't tell a darn thing from that picture taken 50 feet away from you! :rotfl: My eyes are getting too old for that! :)

I suppose I can wait until you get back to really see what it looks like, but just know that the pressure is on........... I'll be looking at your hair first in every single picture when you start your TR! :lmao:

Well that is a lot of pressure to have a good hair day 10 days in a row -- in the wind, rain, and humidity! :scared1::laughing:

:lmao:

The D23 Expo was amazing! We got to meet up with Disney Imagineers, entertainers and a few Disney Legends as well! The events, panels and show floor was fun. The Disney Archives brought costumes, props and artwork and collectibles, from movies and tv shows such as POTC, Mickey Mouse Club, Rocketeer, Tron and One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

WDI had a beautiful presentation, "Carousel of Projects" which showcased a full scale model of the new FL at WDW, ride vehicles for Cars Land, info about DCL, DVC, Aulani, and a model of the new park being built in Shanghai, China. ABC, Disney Channel, Disney Store, Hallmark, Microsoft and other companies were there to show their "Disney" licensed products.

Kinect Disenyland Adventures for the Xbox360 is a mind blowing game! WOW! It takes you on a virtual tour of Disneyland and it's rides while interacting with you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PP8bqV92zl8 Going to definitely have to buy this!

They had a huge collector's forum and we were able to pick up some neat stuff for our collections and autographs too. On the last day, about an hour before the show closed, Celebrations magazine sent out a tweet for a prize for the first person who visits their booth and shows them the tweet. I was the first one there! I won the complete collection of their magazines to date, plus a few of Lou Mongello's park audio guides CDs.

But the best part of D23 was seeing all my friends that came from as far as New York, New Hampshire and Orlando. We went to Trader Sam's on Friday night for a podcasting meet up and then on Saturday night we went to DL together. It was a blast!

I took a bunch of pictures and will post up a link later on. It sure was a good idea to stay overnight down there too. This really pooped me out! LOL!

There will be a D23 Expo in 2013! So if you are thinking about coming to DL and want to do the event as well, it would be a win-win for you. This was "Disney" geek heaven!

Sea :cool1:

:lmao::rotfl2:

Not quite yet!!

Hey, how was the D23 expo???

Shelly - My goodness Jack really has grown. He is still very adorable.

Your hair looks great, it is not short at all. I like it.

That is SOOOO not fair!!!!!!!!!! I was going to say that you must have cut your hair, but they beat me to it!

My second guess was going to be that you got a hidden Mickey tattoo on your bum! :rotfl: Hey, you said it was drastic right! :lmao:

Ok, now don't you think for one minute that you can make us wait to see your hair until after you get back! That is just WRONG! Don't make me throw a temper tantrum right here on the DISing room floor!

I'm thinking that if it's a Hidden Mickey, I'm not sure I want to see a photo. :lmao:

You're hair looks cute, Shelly. I think you might be able to still pull it back if necessary. And I can't believe how big Jack is getting! He's still too cute!

What on earth are you feeding Jack? He's grown lots!

Your hair isn't nearly as short as I expected. I think it looks fantastic and hopefully it keeps you cooler next week! :cool2:

Shelly - As RinkyTinky said, the picture is taken from quite a distance ;)......but it sure does look like a cute style for you! When my DD used to get the itch for a new look, I would always advise her to leave it at least long enough for a ponytail. When you are used to being able to pull your hair up or put it in a ponytail, it would be a real shock to not be able to! You will probably love the shorter length with the heat!

Honey, I blew up the dog!!! I cannot believe the dog in those pics is little Jack! My gosh, I think if you watched him closely for an hour or two, you would actually be able to see him growing! That picture of him posing with the faraway look in his eyes  is beautiful! And skateboarding! :rotfl2:

Shelly, love the hair, and Jack is so freaking adorable! Love that sweet face. Not enough to get a dog, but...:)

I can't believe your trips are so close!! JO's finally packing, thank GOD. Makin me a nervous wreck. I am definitely more like Shelly in that aspect. I start at least a month before. It adds to the excitement. However, I'm still rushing around at the last minute packing, too. I blame the husband on that. He's the last minute overpacker who screws up my system every time! Urgh!!

Shelly...I knew it was a haircut!!! I think it looks great! And you will def enjoy getting ready quicker in the mornings and not being so hot. I don't think I would call it a short haircut tho'..def med length. My hair is short!!!! I cut all off again this summer and it's grown back almost to where I can get an inverted bob...Love it! I can't do ponytails either due to headaches. And my hair is not super thick, so it just looks so much better when it's shorter...it had gotten almost as long as yours is today and it just looked scraggly. so,,off it went! I think after a few days you will really love it! So,...Jo's next with a haircut?
Jack is precious!!!!!

OMG!! That was a lot to take all at once wasn't it???

I can't believe IPO called you. I have to say -- so far I am not all that impressed with the Poly IPO. No calls. And it takes forever for them to answer an email. I hope I am more impressed when we get there.

It's not exactly like Belle's. But kind of close. It rests on my shoulders!! I lost about 7 inches.

7 INCHES!!!!!!!! That's a lot!! I can't believe it!

Now, that's not true.....Completely.

It's been in a ponytail everyday for the past several weeks, so it was time!!

Ahh, yes, the pony tail days. As soon as mine is up for 2 days in a row, chop!!!!

Now, as far as the GF IPO-- it seems that this might be a new thing they are testing out-- the calling-- to see if there's any questions we have and to go over our info. IDK if they are doing it at all the CL IPO's. If they aren't talking about it on the Poly thread, then they must not be doing it b/c the GF thread says it's all a new thing.
So don't give up on the poly yet.:goodvibes

Oh good Lordy, I am so late on the news. And guess what? Hair was the first thing I thought of, too! Isn't it funny how every of of us thought of hair first? That is, everyone but Sea! Hair is just so important to us girls. My DH hardly even notices when I cut mine. It's already pretty short, but he usually doesn't notice when I trim it up. I can't wait to see how your hair looks, Shelly. We need pics!

Jo, that is so nice how the GF called you to see if there was anything YOU needed! I've never heard of that before! Shelly, I hope the Poly is just as accommodating when you are actually there.

I am so excited for both of your trips being SO CLOSE!!! As for the weather, I hope if y'all get any effects of the storms, it is short and minimal. I remember after our last storm (Gustav. Couldn't the darn storms at least have a pleasant name?), we were so amazed at how beautiful the day after was! :sunny:

OT for Jo: I guess you have heard about the latest in T-town. Unless you have been too busy PACKING to keep up with the boards. ;)
Your poor football program... and Oregon coming up. :faint: I'm so sorry. :(

And yeah, what is it with the names of hurricanes? Mean Irene????????

Okay, okay I'll post a pic!!

I was going to get mine cut off at the beginning of summer but for some reason I was thinking that I wanted it long for Disney. Now I wish I would have done this before!

You were waiting b/c we were gonna be in the "I can't wait to be miserable in the FL humidity with long hair" club.:rotfl2:
Okay, first off I will show you my huge dog!! :faint:

Remember this the day we brought him home?

Well check him out now!!

And one pic of me & Jack. That's all you're getting until after the trip!

Summer-Fall2011030-1.jpg

I love your hair!!!!!!!:lovestruc It is so cute! it looks great on you! Very nice-- and so much easier for FL!!

Jack..... :faint: Must be the Puppy Chow!!!!!!! Adorable. But so big!!! :(

I thought your big news was going to be that Jack got neutered today.
:lmao::lmao:

Shelly, love the hair, and Jack is so freaking adorable! Love that sweet face. Not enough to get a dog, but..

Um, no. No chopping off the locks on this chick!

Shelly, it looks like good news for you on the hurricane. However, it appears that it is now headed straight for ME! It if stays a cat. 3, it will be very bad. One of the two really bad storms that I mentioned to you before was a cat. 3 and it was a very scary experience. It came through at night, so we could not see a thing (of course the power went out so it was literally pitch black dark outside). The wind was the worst I have ever seen and we heard trees snapping all night long. We spent the entire night underneath our coffee table in the living room b/c it was the center of the house. When we got up the next morning and could see what had happened, there were trees down all around our house (15-20 of them). It was a miracle that none landed on the house! Then we were without power for 2 whole weeks!!! :scared1: All our food spoiled, we had no a/c and it was almost 100 degrees every day, there was no way to cook, take a shower, wash dishes, flush the toilet.... just horrible! So whatever prayers you have been saying to push this thing away from Florida, how about say the same ones for me. I do not want to go through all that again!

I'm also wondering about Castaway Cay and the Bahamas. It looks like it will be taking a direct hit. First and foremost, I hope the people there are ok and don't lose their lives or homes, but secondly, I hope it isn't all torn up for my cruise. :guilty: I know it took us months to get cleaned up and back to normal after Fran (our cat. 3 storm).

I am very happy for you though that it looks like Florida will be spared. Now let's just hope it doesn't mess up your flight.

 I know too well about the hurricanes-- been thru a few. I'm praying the storm takes a turn and leaves the whole East coast alone.

Charleston's big Hurricane was Hugo in 1989. The eye of the hurricane passed over Charleston as a Cat 4 storm.
I wasn't at home-- I was in college in OK-- but my parents didn't leave the house and I couldn't reach them for two weeks. The only reason they got telephone lines was b/c a friend of mine who worked for the phone co stopped at my mom's house and said he knew I was probably upset and wanted her to be able to contact me.:lovestruc No one else in the neighborhood had telephones for another two weeks.

Praying that you get spared--- my cousin is in Puerto Rico and I talked to her yesterday-- she has no internet or cable but her apt bldg has a generator so they have power.

Be safe. You have our thoughts.

Good morning!!

I am going to Disney World in 3 DAYS!!!

DS12 had a Middle School tour this morning with the principal since we will be missing Open House while we are on vacation. Good grief, I don't know how he is ever going to handle MS! I am worried for him. He doesn't seem too concerned though. Hopefully all will go smoothly. :wizard:

Well it appears that Irene may possibly miss FL, but I'm still worried of course. Mostly about our flight down. Some people are changing their Friday morning flights to Thursday night. We could probably do that, but my worry is what if we go to all that trouble to change things and then the storm speeds up and ends up causing problems Thursday night....

Shelly - As RinkyTinky said, the picture is taken from quite a distance ;)......but it sure does look like a cute style for you! Yep - I can still put it in a ponytail - it's just a way shorter ponytail!

We always say that when Jack gets up from a nap - that he grew while he was sleeping!! :faint:

The kids are determined to teach him to skateboard. So he gets a little lesson each day. Poor dog. :rotfl:

Shelly, love the hair, and Jack is so freaking adorable! Love that sweet face. Not enough to get a dog, but...:)
