This is an idea I got from the other threads, asking about when people are gong to Disney. I thought it would be fun to see how many of you are going to be there this Christmas! I'd personally love to meet some fellow Dis'ers- even if just to say
! So if you'd like- let us know what your dates at the fort will be.... what type of loop you've requested...... are you bringing your pets....... what type of rig you have...... what will distinguish you from the other campers so we can say hi.......what are you most excited about doing during your stay......who your family will include...... and any other information you want to share!
My family consists of myself, DH, one set of twin boys who will be 11, and one set of twins- a boy and a girl- who will be 8. We are also planning to bring 2 of our smaller dogs, as long as they prove to be quiet peaceful campers!
Not sure which 2 yet- we have 10! Thought it would make chores easier here at the farm if there were a couple less to take are of!
Our dates at the fort will be arriving Sunday December 22nd, and leaving Friday January 3rd. We are driving our old pace arrow motorhome from northern MN- leaving Thursday the 19th as soon as we can 'dewinterize" the old girl- this consists of clearing all the antifreeze in the lines, as well as a few other things. We'll have to drive far enough the 1st day that we wont' have to worry about temps freezing that night.
We have only been to Disney once- that was this past February. Stayed at the cabins, and fell so in love with it there that we came home and bought an old fixer up motorhome just to go back! I love it so much there that (and I'm not kidding when I say this) my heart actually HURTS sometimes when I think about being there and wishing so much we were there right now. I only wish I was rich and lived closer!
We have rented a 6 seat golf cart from Kenny for our stay- for those interested I emailed them one day- she called me back the next night! The total for Sunday the 22nd thru Friday the 3rd is about 680, in case anyone is thinking of doing that and wondering on pricing. That's for a 6-seater, remember- the 4 seaters might be less, but I'm not sure how much.
After trying for a year, we have convinced my mom to also join us. She's been to Disney many times, but never with young kids! My kids are ecstatic that grandma is coming! She is worried about getting around because she has really bad knees, but we are going to load her scooter up in our motorhome storage, and take good care of her! She's going to ride down with us, stay with us a few nights, then get a motel at maybe AoA for 6 nights as well. Plus my older brother is going to come down for a few days and stay there AND my older twins dad is trying to get his vacation so he can also come down and join us! He's never been there, so it's going to be an exciting time for all of us!
Mostly I am looking forward to "fort time"- seeing Christmas decorations, going on the horse- carriage ride, sitting on the beach watching fireworks, and spending a little private time with my DH, since this time we'll have family there to help entertain our kids! We bought a bunch of Christmas decorations on sale after Christmas, just so we don't stick out like a sore thumb and embarrass the others in our loop, and also so we can be part of the fun of Christmas decorating at the fort! We requested loop 900, and we will be the old pace arrow with a big mickey mouse inflatable snow globe in front. ($20 clearance at Kmart!

Hoping to meet some of you down there!
