Who's Going Oct 09? Plans Are...

hoping to score some bounceback action and book a trip for october of 09... we'll see after my oct. 08 trip! :)

I haven't booked yet either. But we are planning October 30th through November 3rd. Can I still join in the fun?:)

There will be 13 of us and my grandmother, despite our objections, has decided to spend part of my Mom's and Aunt's inheritance and splurge for us to stay at the Poly!!!

I got my quote from MV too. What are your dates? Lisa has group discounts for the Poly, but the terms and conditions are pretty strict. It's also not a Disney MYW package so no DDP. But she saved us over $400.

It's good to know I'm not the only one planning where I'll be eating 14 months from now!

My dates are Oct 24th -31st.

I got a quote from MV and MT. They were about the same. I do not want to do a group rate because we cannot afford to lose anything. I have Lisa from MV and Kelly from MT who has been soooo nice. I need to decide in the next week. Yikes.

Yeah, Lisa is great. We used her on our last trip and she was very patient with my crazy planning!

I'm still waiting on the quotes for the rest of my family. We will need 4 rooms. Hopefully we'll book this week.:woohoo:

We will be there Oct 16-25. I think this time we will just stay at the YC for the entire stay...we just love it there. Maybe a split say between the AKL and YC we have to see how we like AKL after our stay there this Oct

I have not booked the room yet, we are going up to WDW tomorrow and again in Oct so I am hoping for a bounceback offer.

Cannot even think about dining yet, I am still trying to get my April ones in place!

OK. I am thinking that I will go ahead and make the ressies for CLGV and with the DDP. When time goes by, I should be able to drop the CLGV to regular GV if necessary. Going the other way may not work out as easily.

I just need to do it.:scared1:

Who: My fiance and I (both 25) and a bunch of our 20-something friends

When: Probably the first week of October for 7 nights.

Where: A grand villa. We've narrowed it down to OKW or AKL.

We've been talking for some time about getting a big group of our friends together so that we could fly down to Disney for a week. Now, we just have to get some people to confirm they are going and start taking deposits :)

When: October 26th-November 1st

Where: The SWAN!!!

Musts: The Brown Derby (We LOVED it on our first trip), SOARIN' (We never got to go last trip)

Everything else is just getting planned...lots of time!!

Question for everyone: What are the crowds going to be like during this time? Weather? How awesome is the MNSSHP?!? I'm excited to watch time slowly tick by with you all!!! At least I have the wedding planning to keep me occupied!!

Best wishes!

Crowds are very nice at that time. Weather is typically gorgeous. Last year we hit a fluke tropical storm and had rain for 5 days and sun for the remainder.

Hi everyone, hope no-one minds a UKer hijacking your board!

I've just booked our holiday for October 09!

I've been twice before, but not since 2000. :( This will be a first for my children which makes it even more exciting.

We're going from the 6th till the 20th and staying at POP!

Since we have the two little kids, we feel that the Pop is the most exciting of all the resorts.
We were going to do CSR, but now it just seems very adult.
My children aren't very good in resturants, so we figure we will do the princess party and the hoop-de-doo.
Other then that we plan on doing easy quick meals.
I think we are going to do the dining plan.
I use to go every year as a child with my family and I want to do the same for my children. (or as best as we can)
Sadly I haven't been since 1998.
I would love suggestions on things to see and a realistic timeline.
My husband keeps saying we will play it by ear, but i know this place is so big with two little ones that we have to have a game plan.
Lastly, I am not sure now if 9 days will be two long with a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 year old.

I could have written this! I've not been since 2000 so, although I can remember the magic and good feelings, I can't really remember the specifics, and so much has changed since then so it'll be like my first time too.

I've never been the grown up one either lol. This is the first holiday I've ever booked and planned, hope I get it right!

I think POP is definitely the perfect resort for young children.

If it helps, this is the plan I've got so far, but with young children, this is just a guide, things could easily change when we get there for a million reasons. The ADR's I'm booking are mainly at Disney parks or resorts, so even f we don't go to that particular park that day, there'll still be the free disney buses to get there with ease.

Hope that helps, and see you there! lol

Well, we just booked and we totally changed what we are doing now.
So i have to start all over with the planning.
We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and doing regular dining now.
Total 180 from the other plan. :)

I think you will love the WL. You will have more room and be closer to the MK.

What dining ressies are you thinking about??? How long will you be staying???

I think we'll be happy there.
My dh and I agree that we didn't want to regreat not going delux.
I know we want to do the hoop dee doo and the lunch at the castle with the princesses.
Our anniversary is on October 4th and I would like to maybe do the living seas for dinner?
I would be open for suggestions, that is cute and family, but maybe a bit nicer then the regular run of the mill.
I think I would like to do at least one breakfast with the characters, i have read on here chef mickeys is great.
Do I need to have advance reservations for all my TS meals?

Some things I was thinking about disney...

What is the weather like in October normally?
Does it get cool at night that we should pack jackets and or sweatshirts?

And

Do they have water fountains around that we can refill water bottles?

YES!!!!!!! You will need to make advanced ADRs for all of your TS. Chef Mickey's (CM) is one of the most popular restaurants in all of Disney. We do dinner there to kick off our stay. It is so much fun and the buffet suits everyone and you can go at your own pace. Crystal Palace (CP) in the MK is wonderful for breakfast. Winiie the Pooh and friends are there. The food is really good and there is a lot of space. It is a buffet as well and you can go at your own pace.

We did lunch at the Castle with the princesses and we loved it. Our food was perfect despite what I had read from some posters. That is a ressie that you will need to count back like 180 days and dial at 7:00 am to get. It goes the fastest. Do not be to rigid about day and time for it, you will have to take what is available. It was just my daughter and I. The boys had a pool day. I had my TA call my ressies for me.

The Living Seas sounds like fun. I haven't eaten there.

My DH and I liked Le Cellier at Epcot in Canada. The kids like the special drinks and the pretzel bread sticks.

Ohana is fun, fun, fun for family. It is great if you are big meat eaters. Everything is grilled on skewers right there. the salad is awesome and they have kid friendly food. They do kid games right there like limbo and coconut races that are fun to watch. It is at the Poly which is not too far from you. You could boat to MK and boat to Poly or Monorail. Or leave MK and mono over to the Poly. We sat by the window and had a gorgeous view of the lagoon.

There is a TS at the WL that the kids will probably love. It is a kid place and I hear it is a blast.

You can go on www.allears.net and get all the restaurants and the menus... it is fun to look.

Are you doing the dining plan???? We always do tons of character meals because they are soooo much fun for all of us.

Just wanted to say Hi and love reading everyone's plans. I might have some information on a room deal for the last of October. PM if anyone is interested.

Here's wishing everyone a Magical Vacation!!!!

Sounds like you have planned a terrific vacation, madmumof2. I just wanted to add that the Animal Kingdom hours may not be long enough for you to take a break, and go back to the park. This year's October hours might be an indication of what to expect for this same time in 2009.

Boma is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, not at the park. Although it would mean missing the afternoon parade, after your break, you could arrive at the lodge early for your dinner reservation to watch animals, visit their shop, or wander the resort.

Have a magical trip! pixiedust:

We are first timers to disney and we are taking our 1 and 3 year old (They'll be 2 and 4 when we go) .

We are going Oct 19 (husband's birthday) to Oct 24 (my birthday), 2009.

Staying at POFQ

We are currently planning where to eat (We decided to go with the DDP) we are thinking mostly buffets and family style dinners since my children and I are picky eaters.
