Oh I usually stay up wayyyy late, 4-5am. I have insomnia.

Yuck! I have the opposite problem (and it is a problem) heavy fatigue! I sleep a lot! I take a nap during the day, esp if I have to wait up for a teenager! (I've tried to go to bed, but I toss and turn and worry more - not always, but sometimes!) I could easily sleep 10 hours a day - and there's no time for that!

Me too! Just like a little baby. I get sleepy when it gets dark and I'm up with the sun. :sunny: Have to have my sleep! DH & DD hates it when we are on vacation. I'm up at 5 and they are pleading to sleep in. They call me "Sarg". But they just don't understand if you don't get to the parks before they open, the day is wasted! :rotfl:

Amen to that! :) Fortunately DH and I are on the same page when it comes to getting to the parks.

I AM a teen and I know I'm wearing a costume, no matter what anyone says! Although, the problem is: what to be, what to be....
Either:
- someone from a masquerade ball
- a pirate (arr!)
- a witch ( a COOL one this year, not some lame one like all the other times)
- or a fairy

Any suggestions?

oooh a Masquerade Ball!! I like that idea!! I'm thinking since DD is going as Princess Aurora, I can be Queen!! (not that there is a Queen Aurora! per se in costuming that is!!)

I'm still annoyed I picked Columbus Day weekend to go to the WORLD! I'd love to plan my itinarary, I keep reading people asking for help thru Memorial Day, and I think, see could be worse... right?! I cant wait to do some serious planning!! Waiting for dates, and Food and Wine events,,, just shows you how Disney obsessed I am!!

I saw the cutest Queen of Hearts costume on Ebay today. My DH would think I was a freak. :rotfl: Not that he doesn't already :earboy2: DD7 wants to go as Aurora too! What is it with this particular princess? Looking for a costume for her, but there aren't many out yet. I'm hoping later in the summer there will be more available. I guess I should just calm down a realize I still have 5 months to get it together...only 5 months!!!! :earseek:

tikkipoo that's too funny -

I did a google search for Princess Aurora + Prestige Costumes, found a site that had it on sale for $30!! So I leaped, its the 'deluxe' version, and its gorgeous (shhh she doesnt know it yet!!) Not sure what site I used, I did it through 'biz rate' they rate the different dot coms with feedback... and about Sleeping Beauty :confused3 DD really says quite often "I HATE pink"! After I bought the costume, wouldnt you know I found the BLUE Aurora costume!! uggg, it wasnt as nice tho, but I was tempted!! I'm still hoping I can come across as the mom of Aurora, the Queen hasnt a name, her husband, her Prince, and his father, the witch, the Fairies, all have names, but not the MOTHER?? :confused3 I'm thinking of a "Juliet" type costume... I mean afterall I only have FIVE months!! :earseek:

:rotfl2:

Tikkipoo,
Is the Queen of Hearts Costume the adult one or the child? DD8 will be the Queen of Hearts and I got her costume on Ebay. It is the same as the adult one that groovemommy is selling on there. It is a beautiful costume. She will be 9 in Oct and she is fairly tall. The Adult small goes to the floor when she has it on without shoes. It is worth the money you spend. We also found there the Flamingo Croquet Mallet amd crown.

DD12 is dressing as someone from a Masquarade Ball, sounds like it's the "teen" thing for this year! :rotfl: She has picked out a mask she wants and now she wants a strapless white gown to wear with it... With prom season and wedding season this should be an easy find.

I have to say I am starting to feel like quite the minority in the "no costume" category! DH definitely won't wear a costume, and I don't think I will. In fact, I am 99.9% certain that DH and I will both be costume-less. But I do have four different choices in Halloween "novelty" shirts - two Jack Skellington's, a generic skeleton, and a Disney Halloween sweatshirt. So I'll still be in the spirit!

DS9 isn't a big costume guy and he HATES face paint. I asked him if he wanted to wear a bandana and be sort of a pirate - he is considering it! Otherwise he can just wear his Halloween T-shirt from the Gap and be happy!

Does anyone know how hard it is to get a PS (or an AR or whatever the heck they are calling them today) at CP for a MNSSHP night? We're going Oct. 16 and LTT and Tony's just aren't thrilling me.

I know, I know. No costumes and eating at CP. Not the behavior of a proper DISer, is it? :rotfl:

Hi there! Don't worry you are not alone! My kids are wearing costumes but my DH & I are going to get the Halloween tee-shirts from Target this year & wear them to MNSSHP! Maybe even the Disney store will have Halloween shirts. I like the shirts that say "This IS my costume!"

We did however get a ps/ar for LTT  but I heard a few people here asking for CP too! Come on October!!!

My son (he turns 14 during our trip) has told me twice that he doesn't want to wear a costume.

I hope I'll be able to find some really cool halloween shirts and hats. However, I have no idea where to start looking. :confused3

I booked PS at LTT for the October 2 party. I really want to book Crystal Palace for September 30.

Hmmm wonder if those DS - or teenagers will wear a tie dye shirt? or a Rock band shirt, they can go as a "Fan" of a band??? I'm sure they'll be fine, you'll never have 100% participation, so you go with what is best for you... and for me, I cant wait!! I look forward to dressing up... my parents are coming, I know I can talk my mom into something, but my dad??? I'm going with a 'parrot head' theme for dad, he does like Jimmy Buffet, so maybe... if not, he'll just have fun watching all us 'strange' people!!

DH is a huge Star Wars fan. Wonder if I could get him to dress up like Obi-wan? :teeth: When we went in 2003 he and DD got a picture of themselves as Obi-wan and Amidala after the Star Tours ride at MGM. It was PERFECT! And a little scary (DD was 5 at the time and they made her look like she was 21 :scared1: ) If I could just get the light saber on the plane??? :scratchin

and Lynn4Mel: Yes it was the adult costume I was looking at. Still don't know about that though :)

Just phoned WDW and I will now be attending MNSSHP on 6th October with my DH, DS-7, DD-6 and DD-1. We are so excited! Staying at ASSports from 29th Sept-13th Oct. Really looking forward to the party as we did MVMCP on 14th Dec last year and were so cold. Hoping for a warmer night :cool1:

Woo hoo!! All you October 1st arrivees we are at 138 days!!! (Well at 3pm today I will be at 138 days and 23 hours ;) ;)

For those going to MNSSHP on the 6th I will be joining you at LTT at 5pm with hubby and 2 sons!

Most of my Halloween shirts are from the Disney Store. I bought a long sleeve T-shirt at the villain store at MGM last time so I will bring that, too. Target always has Halloween shirts, and last year I want to say I saw some nice ones at Academy Sports.

I have a Halloween sweater with a big haunted house on it but the vast majority of Halloweens around here are way too hot for me to wear it. I bought it at Foley's or Dillard's - somewhere in the mall.

JoAnn Fabrics had a huge bin of really fun hats the other day when I was there - princess hats, "pimp" hats, a hat that looked like a birthday cake, several others I can't remember. But they were $20 each and they would be a little bulky in the luggage. If they put them on sale I will consider it.

For kids the CWD catalog always has REALLY cute Halloween T-shirts. DS is outgrowing his but if you have younger kids the stuff is darling. Gap hasn't done their holiday shirts for the past couple of years, but they used to make shirts for Halloween and Christmas. I bought one on clearance for DS a few years back but I wasn't thinking correctly about the size. It is HUGE and may still be too big for him this year. Oh, well! We will get it all figured out in the next five months!

We are going to be down basically from 10/6 - 10/10 (arriving late Thurs). We will be attending MNSSHP on 10/7. I suspect 10/8 will be an Epcot F&W day.

Now I need to start thinking about costumes for MNSSHP. I know DD6 would want to be a princess, but I want something a little more practical. Wonder if I can convince DH to dress up too with me!

See you all there!!! :wave2:
