Who's coming to DL for the Half Marathon Labor Day Weekend - Updated with Meets!

Not sure how much we'll be taking in but Marc and I will be there that weekend (gotta use the developer points somehow!) and will keep our eyes open for y'all. Grizbuzz thinks I'm going to be running with her - I think she's gonna be disappointed!

OK, I am all excited that we just found $98 round trip tickets for LD weekend. However, they are to LAX and we have always flown into SNA.

So....anyone know of a good car service (DH DOES NOT want to share shuttle and I do not want him driving in LA traffic - STRESS for him) from LAX to DL that won't blow everything we have just saved in tickets?

Daneen - do the DL Express Bus. Straight to the DLH (or whatever Anaheim hotel you are staying in). It's a luxury tour bus, so you ride in extreme comfort and safety. It's also operated by Gray Line Tours (www.grayline.com) and they have a discount coupon on their site. Plus, it's recommended to pre-pay, so all you do is board and go.

They'll be finalizing and announcing that stuff sometime after the next couple weeks. They have a small 'family reunion" they have to attend this week!

Once the cruise is over, they'll be able to focus on the DL event - and the June madness (whatever that is....).

As Kevin always says - "Be patient and trust us."

Hey Everyone. Gonna be there the 3rd to the 8th. The half marathon was my motivation to get my butt off the couch and get moving! Never ran a lick in my life. I started working out with a trainer and running on December 19th. So far I have run 5 5Ks and 2 10Ks, plus Pat's Run in Tempe, AZ. I just started my official training for the half on Sunday and signed up today. Never would have thought that I would be 40 pounds lighter and looking forward to getting out and running in the morning!

Looking forward to seeing the other DisBoarders running in the half!!!

Slight changes in CA Adventure, no run down Main Street, but we're going through Angel's Stadium once again this year!

Slight detour coming out of Angels Stadium area to make up distance.

Wow, no running down main street? This will be my first DL Half, but I have to say that other than the finish, running on main street towards the castle at WDW is my favorite part of the Marathon. Jeff, any idea why they made this change?

You are right, one of coolest moments of the WDW 1/2 is running down Main St. This will be my first at DL, I really wish we were running down Main St.

Wow, no running down main street? This will be my first DL Half, but I have to say that other than the finish, running on main street towards the castle at WDW is my favorite part of the Marathon. Jeff, any idea why they made this change?

I can only guess.

The traffic flow out of California Adventure park, through the Esplanade, and into Disneyland park is a mess. Especially for the joggers and walkers towards the back of the pack.

See, they only open up one gate to the center of the famous Mickey Mouse flower bed. And then you go backstage to Tomorrowland.

Coming back down Main Street gets tricky, having to avoid the "rail" tracks used for the horse drawn carraiges. They would only put a plastic mat over the tracks, and have Cast members there announcing "watch out for the tracks". Safety is likely the issue here.

At WDW you stay to the right of the tracks, and all the spectators stand upon the tracks. And of course, you don't run back down Main Street, but head out the castle to Frontierland, and out behind Splash Mountain.

As for the route through California Adventure, that's likely due to all the construction going on around the "pond" there. This park is undergoing massive upgrades over the next two years. Beth's gets credit for these photos in this other forum I belong to.

That does make some sense. Running through the baseball stadium will definitely be cool. I'm planning on snapping a lot of pics along the way. No plans to run fast in this race! I'm still holding out on officially registering until The DIS makes an announcement on packages.

We will now be exiting somewhere Backstage onto Disneyland Drive. I think near the bottom of the downslope of the overpass, just before the right hand turn onto Ball Road.

Whoo hooo, one less hill.
