Who's coming to DL for the Half Marathon Labor Day Weekend - Updated with Meets!

There sure are. On this week's show he said that the tour will be on Saturday, 6/20/09 at 9am, and the cost will be $129 per person. There are 35 spots and he will be putting a reservation engine he tour will be around 3 hours and focus on Backstage Disneyland from a leadership perspective.

I bet if there was enough interest, we could ask Pete to set one of these up on Labor Day weekend....

DS and I would absolutely love to be a part of the tour on 6/20 but since I'm still looking for work I just can't swing it right now. It sounds like it's going to be awesome so I hope everyone has a great time. :)

Sorrry. I heard all that. I was just hadn't seen any refences on the boards lately. I think I might do the June tour. Happy Fathers Day/Birthday to me!!

I'm not sure which I'm more excited about, the Backstage tour or meeting Teresa (oh, and Pete and Walter too). :rotfl2:

I really want to do the tour in June, too! The only bummer is that we're saving up for our wedding/honeymoon this September and every penny counts. Not sure if I want to take something away from our WDW trip, but this tour sounds awesome!! Since we're doing PC 2.0 next year, I definitely can't do the ABD next Spring.......hmmmmmm

Decisions, decisions.....:rolleyes1

Here's one vote for the backstage tour in September. It would be nice to get some news of a DIS package. I'm nervous waiting any longer to register for the race now at 70%. I plan to sign up tomorrow and see what happens with the DIS.

we just registered, and now i have to start pricing out where to stay. off property or on? if its on then i may be able to get a cast discount. hmm....;)

Any suggestions?

My husband and I will be there. I ran in the half last year and I am still recovering so I am going to sit this year out, however I will be there to cheer everyone on.

Glad to hear more folks will be here for Labor Day.

I know Pete is flying Quantas out. I will have to ask him if his plans include a stop-over here for a day before flying Down Under. We definitely have a lot to work out.

BTW - Tom - Am I chopped liver?

Celtic Belle - I'm at the DLH for the weekend. Doing DVC. Check for cast rates there or at PP, before everything is gone....

I vote for Friday. :teeth:

Turns out I am not going to be able to manage the 5K so I will try to get a late enough flight out on Saturday that I can cheer on the 5K before flying home.

Hey guys. I got the official word today from Pete that we won't be having an official function.

That won't stop it from being an unofficial meet, but it means that there won't be any package deals on hotel or anything extra than your normal visit to DL.

I plan on hosting the cheering section for Sunday's race and I'm still walking the 5K, so anyone who wants to walk with me is welcome! We will be walking, so that's a fair warning.

We can also have a meet and greet in DTD or in the park, up to everyone to decide what would be best for them, on Saturday. If someone on the thread wants to have a rally point for the cheer squad for the 5K, speak up!

If anyone is interested, we could all mark a spot and sit together for the Electrical Parade one night - Friday or Sunday, perhaps?

Bummer!

Not to say that I am not happy for the ABD trip for Pete, just disappointed at the missed opportunity to meet the gang. I hope the folks who waited to sign up for the run/walk are still able to get in.

We will be there Thursday night - Monday mid-day so I am up for a meet. I like the Electric Light Parade idea - it is my favorite parade (of course, it is still the Main Street Electrical Parade to me!).

I will be running the half - coast to coast. I am also running the 5k with my niece (disney0208), nephew and my brother.

Do you guys know what the crowds are usually like during labor day? Is it more crowded than spring break or the summer time? just trying to see what to expect. :thumbsup2

I'm not a member of D23 as of yet. I wanted to see what else they had to offer after the initial rollout.
